AC Milan are known for their iconic home shirts...sadly their away shirts often leave a lot to be desired.
The Milan 05/06 away is certainly not a bad shirt but it is, in all honesty, a little boring.
Here are the basics:-
Manufactured by Adidas. White in colour with red and black trim. Embroidered Adidas logo in black on the right of the chest. Cloth AC Milan club badge on the left of the chest with embroidered gold star above it. Opel logo and ZAFIRA printed across the chest in black. Made in Adidas' CilmaCool material. Available in short sleeve and possibly long sleeve too, though I've only ever seen the short sleeve available.
Sizing is the standard Adidas with approx. chest sizes as follow:- Small 34/36" Medium 38/40" Large 42/44" Extra Large 46/48" XX Large 50/52"
To help with spotting fakes, the swing tags should be black with the Adidas logo and a white printed label that has a bar code, the size information and a product code of 109951.
The shirt is well made and very comfortable. The ClimaCool material is great for leisure or playing in and find that it causes no distractions, not even when wet. It's got a nice, wide v-neck collar that hangs quite loosely so you won't feel restricted. The end's of the sleeves are formed from the seams of the two pieces of sleeve cloth, that seperate into a v-shape on the inside and outside of the sleeve. This makes them feel loose and comfortable compared to the shirts that have a band right the way around the cuff. I suspect the long sleeved version would be different but I've never seen one to compare it.
The design is simple without being dull. There are nice seam lines to draw the eye and add some character to the shirt. There is an awful lot of white though, with the only other coloured trim being on the sleeves and the collar. This means that the shirt is certainly nice but a little boring as stated earlier. I think it suffers from how great the home shirts are and this doesn't compare. If this was another team's home shirt. someone like Koln perhaps, you would be quite pleased by it as it's very classic. As an away shirt though, it just lacks imagination, which is a shame as there are many good points to the shirt.
Overall, if you are a collector after a Milan shirt, then go for the classic home shirt. If you are a Milan fan and wan't to complete the 05/06 set, or if you wan't a decent shirt to play in, then you won't be disappointed.
I'd expect to pay up to around £12-£15 for this shirt but no more than that. Check out the auctions for a possible bargain as I'd imagine they may go for as little as £6-£7 if you're lucky.
