...The 975D is the sort of driver that everyone should have as it makes the most impressive sound on impact of any driver I have ever heard. Apart from that though, how does it fair against other Drivers on the market - such as the Callaway ERCII or the Taylor Made 300 series? Actually it does remarkably well. I use the 8 degree Driver and find that the ball flight is very good and am now hitting the ball straighter than I ever had. The distance off the tee is very useful and also the ability to shape shots is good as it can sometimes be hard to do this with a driver but easy with this club. I work in a pro shop so know a lot about this sort of thing - take my word for it this is a great club (bit pricy though!)...

Advantages: Hits the golf ball both longer and straighter Disadvantages: There is a question about its legality.
...and amateur bodies in the USA.
These organisations both make and amend the rules for golfers the world over, the R & A presiding over Europe, and the USGA over the USA.
~ ~ Now it is not often that these two bodies disagree over something, golf not being a sport that either likes or condones controversy and argument, but they have had a major disagreement about this new driver from Callaway.
Before a new piece of golf equipment can come into play it must first be inspected by officials from these two bodies, and pass a stringent series of tests to ensure that it doesn’t give a player an undue or unfair advantage over other golfers.

...with them in the years ahead. That was back in 1995, and 10 years later that same feeling has never left me, and the Adams woods are still an integral part of my golf bag. They’ve been re-gripped innumerable times and re-shafted twice, but the only time I’ll ever part with them is when they finally decide to fall asunder in my hands!
Strangely enough, while I felt this way about the clubs I’m writing about here (the 3-wood and the 5-wood) I never got to grips with the driver, which has long been banished to a dark corner of the hall cupboard!
~ ~ So what is it about these woods that I find so good?
Well, put simply, they deliver everything I want from a fairway wood. They hit the ball a long way, they’re forgiving on shots that are hit slightly off-centre, they send the ball where you want it to go, (most of the time!) and most importantly...
