I am sorry to say that i have now invested in a new pair of shin pads, i say this not to highlight the dislike in the Team Vuelo, but to clearly state that these pads are suitable for many purposes and positions, but from a personal perspective, the support and protection is secondary to mobility and quick movement.

Having purchased a pair of these shin pads, I was slightly disappointed with the lack of modern thinking. Today's game is high paced and a huge level of mobility and agility is required from today's players, whether its grass roots or professional level football.
The pads covered all the relevant areas, but i was a little disappointed with the fit as they felt a little cumbersome. The ankles were so well protected that it was hard to shape the foot a variation of shooting techniques. When playing football, pride myself on my dribbling skills and was only hindered by the sturdy ankle protection.
The shin pads seemed to be aimed at a certain type of player, and this claim is only galvanized by the increase in the production of shin pads which exclude the ankle protection. A lot of the top players prefer a slide in shin pad with tape to keep the pad in place. This increases mobility but does leave the ankle slightly vulnerable; this is one thing you WILL NOT have to worry about with the Adidas Team Vuelo Shin pads.

The ankle area is elasticated but is still very thick. In turn the velcro straps to keep the shin pad in place are also elasticated to enable a good shelf life for many shapes and sizes.
Aesthetically, the Team Vuelo are quite respectable, contemporary colours in black and white are used.
