There is nothing worse than having a pair of boots which rub; I have got your answer, Adidas World Cups for around £55, with the world cups this will not happen as the leather is strong and flexible. These boots are also available with moulded studs for a harder playing surface, and these are known as the Copa Mundials (pronounced mondeos). These boots come with studs which I feel are an advantage as blades do not have as much grip to a slippery surface.
I am proud to say I own these boots, and also to say how much of a difference there is from my old boots the Nike Mercurial vapours. The Adidas world cups provide comfort and protection for your heel and the rest of your foot compared to my lighter Mercurial Vapours, which provide less protection as the leather on the Vapours is much thinner. The Adidas world cups have a unique flexible leather made from kangaroo leather, this may seem cruel but the quality of this leather is amazing. Some boots for example the mercurial vapours are £110, these provide minimum protection, so if someone was to stand on your foot you might get a broken toe (injury I suffered whilst wearing the Nike boots), they also do not last very long either. The leather on the world cups is also long lasting so if you want a pair of boots for a few seasons here is your answer. Since having these boots I have noticed I have suffered fewer injuries to my feet. Although I have scored more goals in these boots, I feel that this has nothing to do with the boot as boots do not usually make a football player. Although I would recommend these boots to possibly a defender or a central midfielder who would be more likely to be involved in tackles for the ball. I have had people say to me that the boots are too small for them, my answer was to 'try before you buy' so they actually fit you.
The world cups have been around for 50 years this suggests that Adidas must be doing something right. Although people may not like the conventional look of these boots, you should not be put off by this as these are top quality boots. When you buy football boots, it is the performance and comfort of the boot that you are looking for, not necessarily the look of them.
So do you spend £110 on a low protection uncomfortable pair of boots or do you spend half the price £55 and get the Adidas world cups, I think you know which boots to get.
Thanks for reading this review, not much to write about football boots!

Sounds like they do the job well. It's a shame Nike aren't as good, they make prettier and quirkier footwear ... I'm a girl, that's allowed to be a consideration :)

I'd be hardf pressed to write so much about one pair of boots let alone two. Well done. Richard aka Beaker
Advantages: Comfy, Last long, easy to clean Disadvantages: Dont look as good as other boots, removable studs can be a disadvantage as can be lost easily.
