You are a complete idiot if you cycle on the roads without the proper gear. Unfortunatley many people do and the helmets that are on the market make you look like a mutant, and this one is no exception.
Considering I cycle up and down the buisiest buss route in Britain every day my safety is of paramount importance. So when buying this helmet my main concern was how much protection it offers to my head, followed closley by comfort and finally cost.
Specialized have an exceptionally good reputation, and most of the helmets on sale at my local bike shop provide about the same amount of head protection. So really the decision came down to which one was the most comfortable. This Helmet was the most comfortable one I tried on and at a cost of £30 there is no real room for complaint.
On top of the comfort it also has a visor which acatually works and does keep the sun out of my eyes, an added bonus.
The airholes do also allow free movement of air through to the skull which is unfortunate on winter and spring mornings as it totally freezes your scalp, which is really a minor gripe.
This is an excellent helmet that provides saftey and comfort for a reasonable price, and is well worth the money, even though like all cycle helmets it makes you look like a mutant.
