I am a surfer. for those of you who don't know anything about surfing, its a way of life. its addictive, its sportive, its fun and most of the time you don't want to get out of the water no matter who is waiting outside (useualy my wife waves at me for a whole hour).
about a year and a half ago, as we were walking in central london, i desided to go in the "quik silver" shop to see whats new. as i was looking at the boards thay had, the seller came up to me and said that they can make a board to suit my needs (my colors, my high, my waight, and any other spesification i want) and its not that expensive (about £450).
the only thing i could do is start begging (to my wife) until finally she agreed. i had a smile of a smily face for a week. i ordered it, paid and waited patienty until it came (it took two monthes to manufacture in france) and i had to try it.
for that reason only we went to newquey and stayed in a hotel for a week (on the beach) when every day i'm surfing, my wife is tanning (the sun came as a surprise) and we both eat outside, stay in the pool or have massages (the wife loved it).
as for the board, well it took a weired shape after only a couple of hours in the water (bumpy all over) meaning that the uper coat of the fiberglass wasn't that hard, but after a few days i didn't care. it surfed beautifuly (i'm a good surfer) and its very light waight (about 5 kg) and i was runing with it all day long.
the down part was the price because i know for a fact that i could have bought it in israel for about half price (or even a "spider"- much better) but i can't complain as long as i can surf here as well (i've got 2 surfboards in israel and my brother is using them).
another down side was that the guys at the shop promissed me that the board will come in 4 weeks and it took twice the time (but they did give a wet suit- quik silver- for free) but that's ok too. overall i'm very pleased with it because its light, its all black (my request) and its got my name on it (in white). next place to try it is new zealand, massive massive waves and the beach and the sun and the cold watermelon... damm, i can't wait...
