Advantages: lightweight, balanced, esay to carry Disadvantages: none so far
...Having always used a trolley to carry my golf clubs round the course and being entirely fed up with always being the one taking the longest route, I decided recently to switch to a new golf bag.
Several of my friends all use the new type of carrying strap which allows you to carry the clubs weighted equally over each shoulder which helps prevent possible back and shoulder problems caused by the traditional bag strap.
As I also required to buy a stand to prop up my new bag, I shopped around and eventually found the perfect solution. The Wilson Levitator.
It is a lightweight, graphite friendly bag which has a built in double shoulder strap and stand. It cost £79 from my local golf pro (he advised me this is quite a new and so far very popular design) I believe it comes in several different colour combinations although I did not get...

Advantages: Very, very cheap Disadvantages: Not as tough as other bikes.
...need to be able to tune the gears. I managed all this, although I did need to go onto the internet for instructions for the gear tuning (and I'm thinking about taking it into a bike workshop to get it done properly). Just as an aside, the locks were rubbish and the helmets quite large. I had to get a better lock, which cost me £50 - almost as much as the bike itself!

Unfortunately, as we all know, you do pay for what you get and it has to be said that it isn't the best bike I've ever had. It doesn't seem particularly strong and I wouldn't use it for stunts or cross country cycling. And the pedal crank snapped off my bike, and then my friend's bike...

The handle bars connect a long way up from the wheels and as a result the steering was very sensitive, and I nearly had an unwanted introduction with the wall.
We headed for Buckingham Palace under the hope that there would be a parade or something of the like. Once we had got over the initial steering problem, the bikes were both comfortable and speedy. As the city is riddled with bike designated lanes and cycle only zones, our trip through Hyde Park and then St. James, was beautiful and car free. When we did have to duck in and out of the paths of hurtling buses and horn-finger-happy motorists, our fold-ups proved very nimble and could zip in and out of the way of crazed balck cabs who seemed intent on sending us to the bycicle workshop in the sky.
The most fun part was locking...

My children adore this simple and very funny book. A Richard and Judy Book club winner for the 5+ age range, the language is aimed at the older end of picture book readers but is actually a fabulous story for any age group. The illustration is bright,... more
