The Valley of Adventure is the third book in Enid Blyton?s Adventure series. This series consists of eight books which follow the exploits of four children, Philip, Jack, Dinah and Lucy-Ann, along with Jack?s parrot Kiki and their friend Bill. These books follow a pattern which is common through many of Enid Blyton?s stories, where children foil the plots of wicked men in a courageous and exciting way. The stories are very plot driven and have the necessary twists and excitement needed to maintain the interest of young readers.
The characters of the children are all distinct, but there?s little character development that occurs, either in the individual books or through the series as a whole. I then read about someone who’d been killed whilst driving a car when the person behind her was catapulted into her neck when she braked suddenly. As the car was due for a change we decided to look at either an estate car, or a sports utility vehicle, as I believe they’re called, so that we could fit a dog grid.
We looked at the RAV4 first, but it didn’t handle well, and the dogs would have had to go on a diet to get in the back comfortably. The CR-V wouldn’t necessarily have been the next choice, but we spotted this one, aged six months, with automatic transmission which I need, and at a considerable discount. This is my last of my reviews of American theme parks, and I've saved the best park for last. Islands of Adventure (IoA) is part of the Universal Studios group and was built around 12 years ago (they were just building it the last time I had been to Universal). I was in Orlando with 3 friends so we were keen on theme parks with more exciting rides to offer and IoA did not disappoint.
GETTING THERE:
IoA is part of the same park complex that holds Universal Studios. As with most Orlando attractions it is fairly well signposted. You just need to get onto the I4, the main road through Orlando, and it is signposted off this. There is a ridiculous amount of parking available.
