I bought these bibs when I realised that my baby was no longer so small that she needed newborn sized bibs but wasn't big enough for the huge bibs with the plastic backs. I hunted high and low for bibs that wouldn't drown her and eventually found these in Boots.
They are so lovely and colourful that I couldn't resist them. They are unisex in design too so I can use them for both my baby and my nephew without worrying about their street cred!
They are farm yard designs so there is a horse, chicken, sheep, cow and apples. They are brightly coloured so very attractive and I have found that my baby likes to just try to play with the colourful edges quite a bit so sometimes pulls the bib everywhere making herself rather messy!
The bib fastens at the back with velcro which is much easier than faffing around with tying a bow, however ...

Advantages: colourful, protect clothing Disadvantages: too colourful!
I never knew I would have an opinion on bibs but since having become a father I've realised I do actually have a preference for what kind of bib I put on my daughter and I can see the positives and negatives of the different makes! It's a whole new world!
When our daughter was born she wore newborn bibs which are tiny and very soft so great at soaking up milk and being kind to her skin but they soon began to get too tight and not big enough to protect her clothes and catch the lovely milky drool any longer so we had to look at bigger bibs.
One thing that I really rate about bibs is the fact that they no longer seem to be tie on ones. I don't know about you, but trying to tie a ribbon around the back of the neck of a newborn baby is just a bit too fiddly for me! So I really rate the fact that the majority of bibs now are press stud ...
Advantages: Dry, safe and washable Disadvantages: Too big for newborns
You are probably thinking what can I possibly say about bibs?! Quite a lot actually! I've tried them all; tie neck, Velcro, soft cotton, pull over head, plastic back, long sleeve and catch-all plastic bibs, and found that the best combination is plastic back with Velcro fasteners.
The best buy are Boots own 3 pack for £5.00 (sounds expensive but they are well worth it). They are cotton fronted with plastic backing and Velcro fastening (easy to do up and undo with one hand), they boil wash and tumble dry extremely well (I found that cheaper bibs crinkled and split in the tumble dryer). They are very plain but they are practical and last a long time (I am using the same ones now for my 4 month old daughter that I used for my son now 3 years old!)
They are quite big on your newborn, but babies grow so quickly and when they start ...
