I have been at Imperial studying Aeronautical Engineering for over 2 years now, and though I have the odd complaint, I certainly don't have any regrets so far.
Firstly, I would not recommend the course to someone who is simply looking for a degree about aeroplanes - I can assure you it isn't, and I can count the number of instances that aeroplanes have been mentioned so far on one hand. Sure, there's the opportunity to go down that route from the third year onwards, but to get that far a lot of work is required, and many people do drop out on the way.
The first two years consist of compulsory core subjects including a rigorous mathematics course, along with aerodynamics, structures, computing, materials, and other subjects generally associated with an engineering course. Unfortunately, there isn't a great opportunity for hands ...
