This Abs exerciser from Argos is a basic version of the ones found in pretty much every gym around the country and it is fair to say that you get what you pay for. It is a cheap piece of equipment given the price of £9.99 however this means it does have its limitations and is not the most comfortable abs exerciser that I have ever used.

The Abdotrim Exerciser is designed to make it easier to do stomach crunches as it takes the strain away from the back and neck area which is a common problem when they are done normally. It is easy to assemble straight from the box as there are only a few parts to match up and the instructions are easy to follow if you need to but intuition will tell you what goes where and once constructed it is pretty secure. I was not overly impressed with the headrest, it is not really contoured to fit teh head instead it is a roll of padded foam cushion that sits across the neck and while it does provide some support it is not a patch on the one I use at the gym.

The metal frame and padded hand rests are well constructed however the movement of the ab cruncher is not as smooth as I would have liked and while it is perfectly ok for me my other half says that it does not feel strong enough to him. It is a quite wide frame as given the price I feared it might be too narrow for him.

The other big negative with this is that once it is set up you are not really going to want to dismantle it and it does take up a bit of space because of the frame. As something that we only use if we cannot make it to the gym then it is perfectly ok especially given the cheap price however it is not something that I would be happy using every day as I'm not convinced how long it would last it we were both using it a lot. It is well worth using an exercise mat with it as well to prevent damage to your carpet.

Given the price it is not bad value however I will only give it three stars as it has a few design faults in my opinion.

Great review. I had a cheap one of these off Amazon and it broke after a couple of months so I invested in a more expensive one than I now never use.
