I first saw the new Arsenal shirt in a newspaper a couple of weeks before the new season started. I thought that it looked pretty good. It looked a lot different from the previous season, and this is mainly because they use two very different main colours in the shirts. In the previous season, Arsenal wore the redcurrant shirt, but with this shirt, they have gone back to the traditional red and white colours on the shirt.
I saw the shirt being modelled by a few Arsenal players in a poster, and it was this that made me want to buy it. It just looked so cool, and also back then I was a huge Arsenal fan, so I dipped into my pocket money savings and went to the nearest JJB store and bought it.
DESIGN/PARTS OF THE SHIRT The shirt has a very good design. The shirt has a sort of collar shaped line around the edge of the neckline. It isn't really a collar that folds over, it is just a different material that is around the edge of the neckline.
There are also two stripes that run down the sides of the shirt. I think that these stand out quite well, and they give the shirt a very good finish!
COLOURS Like I said before, the shirt has gone back to Arsenal's traditional colours, red and white. I am still undecided which colour scheme is better, the redcurrant or the red and white. I will leave it up to you which one you like better.
Anyway, back to this year's shirt. The main colour of this shirt is red, so the front of the shirt is red, (except for the 'Fly Emirates' lettering which is white). The back of the shirt is also red.
A large part of the sleeves is white. There is also a little tiny bit of red on the very edge of the sleeves. It looks like it is going to run around the very edge of the sleeves, but it doesn't complete a full circle, it stops just short. The collar on the shirt is also white.
The two stripes running down the sides of the shirt are a gold colour.
Altogether, the colour scheme on the shirt works really well. I think that the shirt looks pretty good, and is one of the best-looking Premiership shirts out at the moment.
TECHNOLOGY In this football shirt, Nike have tweaked the main material so that it includes a thing called 'Nike Sphere Dry.' This means that there are hundreds of tiny little spheres all over the main material. The main reason for this technology been used is that the little spheres wick away the sweat from you body, and hold it in these little spheres. This is to keep you body cool, and at a good temperature, so you don't get too hot, and so that you can play football comfortably!
There really isn't any other technology in the shirt, and to be honest I really don't think it needs it, I think that it is one of those shirts that doesn't need to be packed full of technology to make it good!
FLY EMIRATES LOGO Fly Emirates took over the main licensing of Arsenal Football Club this season. So instead of O2 being on the front of the football shirts, there is now Fly Emirates. I think that the lettering looks quite good on the shirt. But I have a problem with mine!
I'm not sure if it is because of it been in the washing machine, or because it has got too hot, or any other reason, but the lettering of 'Fly Emirates' has started to peel off in places, and some parts of it has even fallen off. From a distance, it doesn't look to bad, because where it has completely come off, there is a little bit of white left where it was, but when you look at it close-up, you can easily see where parts are falling off. I am not sure if this is just my shirt, or if it is a common problem!
NIKE Nike is still the main sub-sponsor of Arsenal Football Club, so they're logo, the Nike swoosh tick is still on the Football Shirt, it is placed on the top left corner of the shirt.
COMFORT The shirt is very comfortable to wear. The Nike Sphere Dry technology helps to keep your body cool while you are playing, and the material around the neckline is also very soft, so it does not rub against your neck too much and start to aggravate it. It is also quite light, so if you are a Thierry Henry or Cristiano Ronaldo in the making, this shirt will not slow you down.
PRICE I bought this shirt for £45.00, and I am fairly sure the shirt has not decreased in price in most big sports stores. There is also a long sleeved version of the shirt, and this costs a little bit more than the short sleeved version. Although both versions can be bought from websites such as EBay for a lot cheaper!
BEST PART OF THE SHIRT I think that the best part of the shirt is the comfort from it. With the good technology and the comfortable material making the neckline, it is a very comfortable shirt to wear!!
OVERALL Overall, this football shirt is a very good one. It combines great comfort with good looks. If the peeling Fly Emirates lettering is a problem that occurs on all shirts, then this is quite a big problem that needs to be sorted out by when the next shirt comes out. But apart from that, the shirt is of very good quality, and if you are an Arsenal fan, it is definitely worth your money!!<Thanks for reading>
Advantages: An amazing shirt, comfortable and great looking Disadvantages: None at all, except it isn't the most recent Arsenal shirt, but that doesn't really matter!
...curved line. The Nike tick is where it normally is, in the top right hand corner, and the O2 sponsor is in the middle of the shirt like normal.
On the two sides of the shirt, there is a vented area, and this is also on the two shoulder areas. These vents let enough air in to keep you cool!
COLOUR
The main colour theme for the shirt is dark red. Or 'Redcurrant.' The colour is a really nice shade of red. It doesn't stand out too much, but it is ... ...so comfortable. I think that Nike have a knack for making really comfortable shirts. It is really lightweight, so I think this helps. The vented areas on the shirt don't itch like it does on some shirts. And really there aren't any areas on the shirt that itch you. If you are looking for a comfort football shirt, then look no further than this football shirt!!
ANY BAD PARTS OF THE SHIRT
I really don't think that there are any bad parts of the shirt. ...

Advantages: Unique, Sexy, Gold Lettering Disadvantages: Only around for a year,Scam, High Ticket Prices,
Come on you reds!!! Not anymore my friend. For this 2005-2006 season, it will have to be come on you clarets!
Arsenal FC, in their last season at Highbury have decided to totally change their kit colours and go back into the clubs history to 1913, when the Arsenal starting 11 wore a dark claret (but notably on less wages!). As Highbury makes way for Ashburton Grove, ticket prices have gone up to £45 to watch the Arsenal, and for those of you who ... ...another £32 to support your club with pride, but in quite a expensive fashion.
The claret colour is much different from that of the West Hams and Aston Villas, being a darker shade a claret, bringing quite a "sexy" look to the shirt. The gold letterering on the back of the shirt makes this shirt stand at from others and you can clearly see players names and numbers on the back, where as other clubs using the gold lettering are not as clear (Newcastle). ...

Advantages: Makes a change to seeing Arsenal in red Disadvantages: Could get mixed up with Aston Villa, which is a crime
After a season of winning absolutely nothing it's about time Arsenal shook things up a bit. With anew stadium on the way and a pletherer of new, young foreigners coming into the team it seems that Arsenal are taking a step in the right direction. However, the departure of Patrick Viera and the recent injury to Thierry Henry are both huge steps back. So what else could Arsenal have changed at the beggining of this season? There kit of course.
For ... ...of the Premier League, if you forget about the other ten or so teams that play in those colours. But in the days before Highbury was filled with chants of 'come on you reds' you would be more likely to hear the cockneys shouting in support of the men in . . . claret.
Well in an attempt to revisit the glory days of yester year, which could just as well be two or three years ago, Arsenal have gone back to the claret home kit. In my opinion the new ...

...the many other stock manufactured nike shirts in the premiership.
Although this shirt i am reveiwing is reaching the end of its lifespan, i would highly reccomend it to all football supporters of Arsenal in order to pay tribute to thier old stadia Highbury and to contribute to Arsenals profit income so they can purchase some more fantastic players. The shirt is a must for all Arsenal fans, it is a great contrast to the traditional red and white ... ...the back Henry, Reyes, Fabregas. Better still, try out the new stars Walcot, Rosicky or even get the good old Wenger on your back. The shirt is a maroon/red colour with a gold 02 logo in its centeral position. In my honest opinion, the 02 logo makes the previous shirts look like tacky advertisemants, but there is something about the gold labeling on this seasons classic shirt, that gives it its sleek and beautiful style, rather like Arsenals gameplay ...
