The art of Lure fishing - a simple(ish) technique

Advantages: Easy to set up, all sorts of wierd & wonderful artificial lures to choose from, can last years
Disadvantages: Can be rather expensive, especially if you keep loosing them in the scenery

Fishing with Artificial lures is one of my favourite fishing methods, mainly because it's so easy to get set-up for a session.
By Artificial Lures, in this instance I am referring to the good old MEPPS style spinners + also artificial plugs + "spoons"..... not to be confused with Artificial flies used by Salmon & Trout Anglers, which are basically hooks tarted up with various items to resemble an insect of some description.
...
.../> The idea of the artificial lure is to mimick the action of a sick or dying fish, which fools predatory fish into thinking there's an easy meal coming past them....... and you've always got to remember the only way this will work is if you constantly cast out and wind in the lure, otherwise the lure is just a piece of Metal / Plastic or Balsa wood. You wouldn't believe how many people I've had to point this out to over the past 11years or so (I ... more

Ideal match ball

Advantages: cheap, excellent durability
Disadvantages: none

I currently play for a team called LM United in the Kingston and District League based in Surrey. It is a requirement of each team to have two high quality matchballs ready for use before each match. The balls that we use are of the 'Mitre Max' variety and I have no complaints about them. The Mitre Max is a FIFA approved football, infact one of the most popular FIFA approved footballs on the market. It is made from high quality PU leather and features a 26 panel design. We bought ours online for around £20 each so they are of mid-range price wise but offer top performance. You can purchase the mitre max in either a size 4 or 5 and can use them on both natural (grass) and artificial (astroturf) surfaces. I would definately recommend the mitre max to anybody who is thinking of buying a decent football for their team as it has excellent ...

Review of Mitre Max Football

All round good ball for training or matches

Advantages: Well-made in general - high retension ability especially. Suit all ages
Disadvantages: Expensive. Not quite as durable as expected

This high visibility version of the most popular matchball ever comes in a choice of different colours white, yellow etc. It comproses of non woven PU material which is definitely tough enough for use on most natural and artificial surfaces. Having said this though, after a few weeks training with the ball it is starting to wear slightly around the seams. The cost is around £40-50 and for this price, I expected the ball to hold up through months of training. The ball has exceptionnal balance and a lively performance in the air - similar to the Premiership balls of today. It has been professionally tested and rated as OK for use at match and training levels. It seems to be a popular ball for all ages as it is tough enough to be played by infants up to adults. Finally, the tough calendared PVC outer does come fitted with a low ...

Review of Mitre Ultimatch Ball

Lightweight baby

Advantages: Lightweight, speed
Disadvantages: Bad protection

Lightweight boots! Brilliant boots. It will feel horrible if i ever go back to normal boots because of the amount of control I will lose. They are very thin though and make injury more likely, hence 7 out of 10 and not 10. They are expensive at first glance but for what you are getting it isn't too bad. ... It is almost like running barefoot. Do not use on artificial grass, they are worn by Cristiano Ronaldo, R9, Nani, Drogba and many more of the worlds best players. Great for people who are looking for the absoloute best quality there is. If you are looking to run even faster, get these! Buy them and you will no regret it. LIGHTWEIGHT BABYYY as Ronnie Coleman would of said! :) ...
