Advantages: Central Disadvantages: No more sweat towels
...Good Points: The Staff are friendly.
Bad Points: Ever since Virgin Active took over Holmes Place it's been a really poor show. Virgin Active have been trying to reduce the towels they provide ever since they took over. They have now reduced the towels to one per person in most of the London clubs.
General comments: They say this initiative is for the environment. They have refused to bring back the small "sweat towel" and they demand a pound for an extra towel that they say they will give to charity. When asked if they will be donating the savings made to an environmental charity they say no. There is a petition to sign asking them to bring back the towels or give the money saved to charity: www.ipetitions.com/petition/towels/...

Advantages: Open till late, nice pool (when it is not busy) Disadvantages: getting v busy, lazy lifeguards, you have to been drowning before they do anything, getting crowded and un-kept
...and you feel as if you are swimming in the atlantic! Then at the end they all rush into the jacuzzi and it is jam-packed with people. So thats a bit of a nightmare.
The lazy lifeguard, as I mentioned before, usually doesnt put the lanes back after the class unless you tell him to.
The next annoying thing is sometimes there is a swimming lesson in one of the lanes. So you are happily swimming along and then this big lady comes with her pupil, changes the sign to 'Class in progress' and ushers you out of the lane. Its a real pain, the management need to be more loyal to the paying members and not just the people that pay extra for classes.
The other problems I have is that the towels are too small (I am 6 foot tall) and the showers always have bits of hair floating around them. I have requested for a payphone in the womans' changing room...

Every time I do this it’s a new challenge, as no two rounds of golf are ever the same, even when you have played the sport for over 40 years as I have!
~ ~ But here in Ireland, there is one huge drawback to being a golf addict, and that is the climate. Ireland is a small island stuck out here in the Eastern Atlantic, and as a consequence the amount of rain and wind that we get throughout the year is enormous. There’s an old Irish legend that predicts that we will eventually sink...
