There are few companies out there that have done as much to take the sport of paintball further then Worr Game Products. They have been producing high quality autocockers for several years and their products just seem to get more refined and better with each model. WGP (Worr) released the Outkast autococker in 2003 and it has been turning heads ever since.
The Basics
Released in 2003 the Outkast is high end pneumatic autococker. There are no batteries and no electricity. This is an old school mechanical maker done up to meet the new school hunger for speed and accuracy.
The custom milled aluminum body has smooth lines and is very eye catching. WGP currently has three flavors of the Outkast to choose from, blue, black and clear (silver). There is a press in feed neck atop the marker's body. The Outkast comes stock with true closed aluminum bolt and a Black Magic regulator. An STO 3-way and ram as well as an in line regulator. There is a field stripping pull pin though this is not the easiest marker to take apart in the middle of a game.
The Outkast has tons of chrome for flash! From the 3-way all the way down to the 45 style frame, they are all gleaming. The cocking rod and all the externals are either stainless steel or painted making the Outkast stand out in a field of clones and blended paint jobs.
Weighing just under
3 pounds the Outkast is light enough to play speedball but not quite as nimble as an Angel. Still the Outkast is comfortable enough to handle for long days playing. The marker is just over 20 inches from the tip of the beavertail to the tip of the 12 inch two piece barrel. The Outkast is right around 9 inches tall from the top of the neck to the bottom of the regulator. This maker is small enough for most everyone to wield with ease.
Behind the Mask
On the field the Outkast performs flawlessly. I hooked it up to a 68/4500 compressed air supply and an Egg hopper. During my first day shooting we used Nelson and Draxxus paint and both fired equally well. The Outkast fired accurately and I did not break a ball.
This autococker is amazingly quiet compared to other markers. There is a pleasant, hushed report whenever you fire the Outkast. You will hear the ball leave the barrel and the cocking rod clicking. It sounds almost like a sawing machine.
The stock 2 piece barrel is adequate but not perfect. I would recommend pulling the stock 12 inch and replace it with a quality 14 or 16 inch barrel to improve the Outkast's accuracy and distance. The stock barrel is not that bad when it comes to accuracy but after changing to 14 inch J&J Ceramic I noticed a difference in the distance right away.
If you are used to pneumatic markers then you will not have a problem getting used to the trigger pulls. You must fully depress and release the trigger to complete a cycle and if you are spoiled on electro markers you might misfire the Outkast. The 45 frame holds a double finger guard. I found it a little too small for my liking. I could use my middle and third finger comfortably but using my first and second finger at the same time I had issues with room. I do have large hands and I was wearing gloves so this might not bother every one.
Personal Impressions
I have always had a fear of autocockers. There are way too many tubes and rods hanging off the thing. The autocockers look like something the Borg would play with. It just looks complicated and fragile. When I got my Outkast from my friend, John Crom to play he also gave me the orginal box and its goodies too. Thank you, John, thank you.
In the past there was a knock against WGP for poorly written manuals that lacked a lot of detail on tuning their autocockers. Worr stepped up in 2004. They now include a DVD with the improved paper manual explaining all the maintenance and tuning issues that have put off many potential buyers, myself included. This really helps explain how to maximize the Outkast's performance. Included in the box with the marker and manuals is the standard parts kit with o rings.
Taking the Outkast out for a little fun I was surprised with how smooth the action is. There is little to no recoil with the marker keeping your shots on line with your target. The autococker is also very easy on air. The Outkast runs off 300psi. I was very happy to make it through so much paint before having to change out bottles.
The performance of the Outkast is great. Even being a mechanically operated marker it is able to keep up with most electronic markers. The rate of fire is totally up to you and your hopper. If you have nimble fingers I would suggest getting yourself a hopper to keep pace. I was using an Egg and had no problems.
The Outkast by WGP has it all, looks and performance at a very affordable price. If you are in the market for an autococker you may want to take a serious look at this one. There are tons up upgrades for the Outkast too. You can even throw on an E2 blade if you want but you will have to drill through the underbody of the housing to run wires. If you want an electronic version of the Outkast you should grab the NightKast (MSRP of $1025 though!)
This is an outstanding marker out of the box. The Outkast is one of the smoothest and most accurate pneumatic markers I have ever used. It is well worth the money! I would recommend running out the door now before they are all gone.
Another note about this review: I do not own the Outkast. This was borrowed from my friend, John for an extended test drive. I have shot this marker for three weekends and @ 6 hours. I ran about 2500 rounds through the Outkast during that time.

Manual 5/5 Thanks to the new DVD and more a detailed manual. Comfort 5/5. The 45 frame and grips are great! Balance 5/5 Perfectly balanced marker. Weight 4/5. A little heavier then some other high end markers but still light Fit and Finish 5/5. Bullet-proof. Field Stripping 3/5. This isn't something you want to take apart mid game but it can be done! Speed 5/5. Your opponents will get to know the grass behind the bunker very, very well.
Overall 5/5. This is what high end pneumatics should feel and shoot like!
Ideal Use Speedball if you can work the trigger to keep up with the electros! A killer marker no matter where you use it! Air CO2, N2/ compressed air

I see your point and I have corrected it. When I review a paintball marker I try to think of everyone's experience with it not just my own. Someone who is brand new to the sport may be a little put off by this marker as it can be a little hard to work on. Once you know what you are doing the marker is perfect though.
