...I would just like to write a review on Come Dine With Me, a reality TV show that is shown on Channel Four at around five o'clock in the afternoon along with regular repeats on E4. So what is the idea behind the show? Well, four or five people who don't know one another but all come from the same area/ town take it in turns to cook a three course meal for the others in the group who are their guests for the evening. Although they are meant to ideally cook the meal from scratch, there is nothing to stop them from buying the food in already made so as all they have to do is to reheat it. But the only item in theh rules that stops them from cheating, is that they are not really allowed o get any help from another person (also some of them do!). ...Take a group of four or five people who all live in the same area (but don?t know each other), enjoy their food and think they are the perfect host/hostess and get them to each host a dinner party over a week. Throw alcohol and a £1000 prize for the best party into the mix and you have Come Dine With Me. Shown throughout the week on Channels 4 and More 4 (with a full week worth of episodes on Sunday), Come Dine With Me is a programme that appeals to me on many levels. The format itself is a simple idea, each 30 minute episode follows one contestant?s dinner party, with them shopping for and preparing the menu, along with their guests reactions to the menu, food itself and how entertaining they found the night, finishing off with them scoring their host in points out of ten. Advantages: A classic Black & White Historical story. Great range of special features.
Disadvantages: Commentary is a bit poor...but that's not a big criticism.

...I suddenly realised I?d had this DVD for AGES and still not got round to finishing my review of it. Before I tell you about this one I need to give you a little plot overview of this Historical adventure starring the first Doctor (William Hartnell) and his companions Ian, Barbara and Susan. Join me in three paragraphs time if you don?t want to know! The Doctor and his companions find themselves materialising in fifteenth century Mexico, the centre of the Aztec civilisation, in an Aztec tomb. Barbara is mistaken for the reincarnation of the High Priest Yetaxa (because she is found in his tomb) after she wanders out of the TARDIS and gets locked outside.
