Larger (a slice of fresh lime in mine) but no less popular than the Esquina, the Plus is a favourite with the expeditioner and mountaineer alike. The design of the Esquina Plus, with two parallel poles, makes it a bit more of a tunnel than a dome but it can still be struck and re-erected as one. It is extremely light but its aerodynamic design and T6-alloy poles make it incredibly resilient. The flysheet is constructed using 210T PU coated ripstop nylon with taped seams, giving 5000mm of hydrostatic head protection. The groundsheet is 190T PU coated nylon again with 5000mm hydrostatic head; the inner tent is breathable polyester.
Advantages: Logical to put up, spacious to be in Disadvantages: Bit big for the odd weekend!
...Let's set the scene... me and the missus like going away during the summer. Long weekends camping are a favourite especially with an over energetic little lad and a slightly tapped in the head greyhound... which is easier to control is the subjected of an ever ongoing debate!! However, the tents we'd had were not really big enough, especially when we got the dog as well. A little 3 man dome with tunnel and a 5 man dome were just too small.
And as for the thought of buying a caravan... let's just say Jeremy Clarkson is someone I agree with!!!
So, off to the local camping shop for a look round. Actually, we often found ourselves in there just to pass a bit of time. With a gardening centre in the same place, plus the obligatory coffee shop, it was a nice little diversion. But I digress...
They had a huge display of tents from most names...

Advantages: Lightweight, spacious, well made Disadvantages: fiddly to put up
...It’s only an op about a tent……honestly!
Who’s that fella Vango anyway………….?!
I consider myself a hardened camper. My experiences range from a bivvy bag above the Boulder Ruckle in Swanage, to a budget Millets 2-pole tent on the Orkneys, from family holidays in Harlech under a vast canvas and steel construction to New Years Eve in a Vango Force Ten Mk5 in Langdale, as well as several seasons in the Swiss Alps, plus many, many other trips. I have camped in rain, wind, sleet, snow, sun and thunderstorms. I have pitched a tent halfway up a mountain, in tropical jungle, in a lay-by and on the beach. I have had my tents blown away, been soaked to the skin, eaten by midges, infested by ants (and once a hedgehog) and still come back for more.
Right, we thought, it’s time to introduce the children to this fabulous pastime. Besides it...

...The Eureka solitaire tunneltent is a reasonable tent to use when going camping as it is great at keeping in the eat with its very good insulation capabilities. These along with the waterproof material and the wind proof material is great as it really does help when wanting to spend a night out in the cold of the outdoors. However this tent even being able to be put up easily it does have an issue with breaking and the spines of the tent do snap and bend with extreme ease and so it is something to watch out for. The tent being made for two is just enough to fit 2 but it does however have little space for big bags pr food that is needed to be kept sheltered....

When (if) you read the bible, you often come across characters that pop up only once, and are in the spotlight for a moment, and then disappear again... but you suspect they have more story to tell than is recorded. For example, the story of Joseph (and... more

I’ll be honest from the start and that is I’m a Psion man through and through. I owned a series 3c back in the day, I had a 5mx (Ericsson MC 218) until I got drunk and dropped it. Rather than replace that I thought I’d just go for a Revo Plus as it... more
