Advantages: Good first sleeping bag! Disadvantages: None really
...We took our 10 month old son camping in the UK for the first time a couple of years ago in August, and again the following summer, and we used this baby sleepingbag. It was nice and cosy and kept him warm through the night. Unfortunately he was too tall for it last summer - so we got him a Nitestar Midibag instead. I would definitely recommend it for those taking their babies and young toddlers camping. It can get quite cool at night, even in summer, and being 'zipped up' means your child couldn't kick off the covers. It would also be handy for use in a travel cot instead of taking sheets and blankets - something I have done on trips to Scotland....

...are normally only found in down bags.
Ive only used this bag a few times, in the scotish highlands and in the north of wales whilst climbing in winter. Although i did sacrafice precious space and weight by opting for this bag, it did provide superb comfort and heat which was a well earned luxury after a hard day climbing.
This bag was pretty cheap considering the product in hand. It was £90 from my local 'Outdoors' camping shop, and considering it gives better properties than some £200 downbags, i take it as quite a bargin.

At around 2.5 kg it is slightly heavy for a sleepingbag, considering my...

Advantages: Sturdy & Roomy Disadvantages: Not a backpackers tent!
...Simply put...a good buy!
If you are looking for a mid range tent with ample room and that doesn't blow away in a slight wind then this is a great tent.
Shape.
The Vango 300 (there is also a 200 & 400) is decribed as a Geodesic design , basically it looks like two dome tents that have been merged together, so is quite an odd looking shape. But this means that internally there is a lot of space and has 2 entrances with porches on either side. This is excellent for changing your exit/entrance when windy or in driving rain.
Size.
240x 285 cm
150 cm high
Sleeps 3 (comfortably)
Weight 9.2 kg (a little on the heavy side, not a backpackers tent!)
Pitching
Relatively easy if you have a pitched a dome tent before. It has 5 collapsable poles that are colour coded. The Inner tent is put up first. The only problem is with lining up...
