Advantages: Solid, cheap, reliable, sturdy, good range of settings Disadvantages: It's huge - but they all are! Can't make your own set programs
I bought this treadmill because I wanted to learn to run - obviously! I suppose that before really going into the details on what this machine is like, I should probably tell you about my own personal fitness levels beforehand. First of all, I am not overweight and so was not buying it for weight reasons - my BMI is actually right on the border between underweight and ideal. I'm not a stranger to exercise and am a gymnastics and horse riding teacher (not at the same time!), however I AM new to running. My original plan was to run outside, but it was cold and it was embarassing, plus I had absolutely no idea how far or how fast I was running. Next step was to join the gym, but by the time I had walked to the gym I generally concluded that I had gone enough distance that there was no longer any point, and had to really force myself to ...
Advantages: Works Disadvantages: Broken Rear Guards
Broken Rear Guards
I am new to treadmills. I am learning to concentrate whilst walking/running, to stay in the middle of the running surface, to keep up with machine!
We have recently gotten a BH Fittness G6446N Pioneer Premium Plug & Run. Purchased sight unseen via the internet.
At the rear of the running deck are 2 plastic guards. I note that this design feature is shared by all of the G6400 series of Treadmills. The guards are held on by friction and one screw, the internal support and plastic casing/body is weak and flimsy.
These guards have not lasted very long and will not take even slight impact. Granted you want to protect the workings of the belt and make the thing look good but they break and are almost impossible to repair. The should be "detachable" and clip on/clip off.
Replacement of each broken guard ...
Advantages: Tidy and compact, easy to use, feels sturdy and you can run upto 10 miles an hour! Disadvantages: Little bit noisy, it is a bit of a pain to have to change the incline manually
Weslo M5 Treadmill
In my Opinion a Good Quality and Great Value basic running machine
I was looking for a cheap piece of home fitness equipment, I decided on a treadmill but needed something to fit my budget and my expectations in terms of quality and durability. My research led me to the Weslo M5 - made by Icon in the States who have a good reputation in the fitness industry for quality which was a an important factor for me in terms of getting value for money.
In m opinion, the Weslo M5 is by no means a cheaply built treadmill, it's a solid, neat, reliable machine and folds away without being too big and bulky, and at around 65kg it's not as heavy as some.
Its a good looking compact, starter running machine and would probably suit most people up to around 18 stone. The machine itself has all the basic features, nothing ...
