Advantages: 10 solid thrash metal tracks Disadvantages: Not many, just the vocals are often simular
?re the type of person who listens to albums in the background then this would be a good buy as I constantly put it on whilst I?m on the Xbox and occasionally stop and air guitar.
?What it Takes? is one of those songs that gives you both nodding and air guitar moments and is a brilliant 2nd song as it doesn?t hang around and goes straight into a killer thrash riff, with all the heaviness that you desire and solo to make you?re face drip to the floor.
Overkill also manage to combine old thrash metal (themselves) and more modern metal as Lamb of Gods screamer Randy Blythe features in the song ?Skull and Bones,? and doesn?t disappoint, with his aggressive style of screaming that flows well with Overkills way of playing, and just adds something extra to the song, showing when you combine old with new, you get an impressive result, just another ...
Advantages: Rocky, thrashy, energetic,b est of all their albums ever! Each song rocks more than the last! Disadvantages: None really, unless you dont like the genre of music.
So who hasn't got a fitted Topshop/Topman style Motorhead Tee nowadays? Hardly rock n roll to is it? I wonder how many of those guys actually listen to Motorhead? I doubt many which is a real shame because albums like this (Overkill) are a real jem amongst the crap rock that wont stand the test of time. This is Motörhead's second album and it showed a massive progression for the band. The chnage paid off because fans consider this to be their best album (and they have had tons)-superceding the Ace of Spaces!
Vocals on this album are gruff and heavy and you really can pick Lemmy's voice out from millions of others. Shame that people only seem to know The Ace Of Spades as this band have produced so many other great ...
Advantages: Fun shooter for the Wii, makes good use of the innovative control system Disadvantages: Highly offensive language, control system slightly limited
House of the Dead: Overkill is the next instalment in, or rather a prequel to, the House of the Dead games franchise. Anybody floating around the 30 mark will know the series from the arcades of their youth (not that we're not still young, of course!). For those not in the know, it's a zombie themed rail shooter (i.e. you point and shoot and the computer moves your character for you. Think 'Time Crisis.')
I'll write this review by expanding upon the 'specific criteria' sections and justify my ratings, with a few extra comments that don't quite fit anywhere else at the end.
Gameplay / Playability
This game is great straight out of the box. The grindhouse/exploitation theme (anyone who knows Robert Rodriguez or Quentin Tarantino's film style will be familiar with this) is immediately noticeable from the highly stylist intro ...
