Advantages: Looks nice. Disadvantages: A bit more expensive.

I also use a trailer tie. This is a tie that you leave in the trailer. When you load the horse, you unclip the leadrope and attach the trailer tie (which is already hanging up) to the headcollar. The purpose of the trailer tie is, if the horse falls in the trailer (it does happen but luckily not very often and never to me), the trailer tie releases so that the horse does not get hung up if they lose their balance. I have found the trailer tie undone once. One of the horses didn`t travel very well around corners and he used to lose his balance (but not fall), even when doing what seemed like 0 mile an hour. We actually found that he travels better in a wider trailer, so that he can stand with his legs wider, so we use that one now. It is still nice to know that they won`t be hung up if they do fall.

Advantages: Lightweight, easy to tow, retain value, smart. Disadvantages: No handle on inside of jocky door.
...After afew years of having horses and paying for transport I decided to buy a trailer after careful consideration. I had never towed before and did not have a vehicle suitable for towing. It was not a decision taken lightly. I had considered buying a lorry but contemplated that the costs would be considerably higher to sustain another roadworhty vehicle in comparison with higher daily fuel costs to run a 4 x 4. This cost me £2500 (I have had it nearly 2 years) from a reputable dealer and had full service history. It may cost more from dealers but at the time it was the best option for me as I didn`t really know what I needed to check from a safety angle. Also looking at the advertisments at the time, there were...

Advantages: turn up in style! Disadvantages: check it's been made properly!!!
...We bought a brand new Ifor Williams Hunter trailer to carry my two large competition horses and thought i had made a really good investment! My 17.2 fitted in lovelly and it towed to its first competition a dream.
When we got there, it turned out to be a nighmare!
On parking up and jumping in through the jockey door, I was horrified to be greeted by a stream of blood running like a river to the front of the trailer and see my young mare standing trapped against the side as the partition has slid across and wedged her just below her fetlocks. It was amazing that she had not freaked out and made matters worse. On summoning some help we managed to lift the partition back off of her and replace it and lead her out to seek vetinary attention.
12 stiches later (and a nice sized vets bill) we were ready to roll, but how was I going to get her...

I got this game as part of a multi-game cartridge and, as a horse enthusiast, it was one of the first games I played. I have previously played several horse games for the PC in the past, but now I am "grown up" (technically) haven't played any in a... more
