Advantages: Superb graphics for a handheld, fast and smooth, 40+ tournaments Disadvantages: Collisions are still a bit duff, A.I. is nothing to write home about
Playing Ridge Racer really rams home just how far handheld gaming has come in such a short time. As a technical showpiece for the PSP, it?s a hugely impressive launch title and more importantly, feels completely at home on a portable. It makes for an exhilarating arcade racing experience, rekindling memories of a golden era when Namco?s flagship racer was at the forefront of console gaming.
Rather than an out and out new instalment, Ridge Racer consists mostly of elements featured in previous instalments of the franchise. It has two tracks from each of the four original PlayStation incarnations as well as the arcade-only Rave Racer, plus two new ones adapted from this game. So, if you?ve been counting that?s a dozen racetracks, plus a dozen more thanks to the as-ever amply used reverse courses. Almost without exception the tracks are ...
Advantages: Completely forget that you've had to cook dinner Disadvantages: No indication that the power is on
I was first introduced to the delights of using a slow cooker by a former boyfriend of mine, who loved to do his stews in his slow cooker. I must admit I did enjoy the ones he cooked.
More recently I found a small slow cooker at the charity shop, that I volunteer at, and snapped it up. I was regularly doing my current partners favourite meal of Sausage Casserole in it. The drawback with this one was that it was too small and I tended to overfill it when cooking with it.
It was last Christmas that my mum came to the rescue. She got my brother to treat me to the Rival Crockpot, a slow cooker of 3.5L capacity with a clear lid and 3 heat settings; low, high and keep warm. It is in stainless steel with a black, removable cooking pot, a clear lid as I said and Oval in shape
I was delighted especially as mum had also bought ...

Advantages: Decent graphics and music, simultaneous 2 player action Disadvantages: Dubious collision detection and parameters, animation can be poor
Not only are the likes of the opening sequence and the difficulty settings of Rushing Beat (the Japanese version of the game) missing in Rival Turf!, but I believe there to be insignificant tweaks to the fighting system as well. There are two playable characters to choose from, though there seems to be this glitch with Oozie Nelson where he is able to power-bomb an enemy successively without extending the damage dealt, but this is a minor issue.
A feature of Rival Turf! is the Angry Mode, whereby following much damage taken, the player temporarily becomes invincible and is able to deal out heavy damage. Might as well turn it on as there's really not much scope when it comes to the fighting. There's no priority move - not even the special attack which comes at the cost of the player score. You would do well not to resort to running ...
The Racer is the first frame in the range and uses a T800 high module carbon for the frame. Compared to the Stealth it offers a lighter weight but more importantly better comfort while retaining the same level of stiffness. We have chosen the SRAM groupset for this bike as it is very light amongst its peers and the wide choice of cassettes allow you to tailor it to your locality.A full FSA cockpit, Fulcrum wheels, Vittoria tyres and a Selle Italia saddle keep the Italian theme going.FSA's Compact bar shape that is growing in popularity, the reduced reach on the bar allows the rider to stay longer in the drops without the normal lower back pain that some riders can experience. The top tube of the bike is wide and flows from the headtube right through to where the rear brake is fitted. This clean line is not only aesthetically pleasing but serves the purpose of making the frame stiff (due to the one piece nature) and compliant by the reduced thickness of the tube. The downtube benefits from a similar approach allowing the bikes steering to be direct and true.
