Benross Ladies Jewel Escape

Escapism . .

Advantages: Escapism, cheap, not to be taken too seriously.
Disadvantages: Slightly dated, not that believable.

In this review, the plot will not be given away, you may read every word without fear of it being spoilt. (I may regret this) Escape to Athena, a very good war film, actually released on the 6th of June (D day) but in 1974. The cast consists of :- Anthony Valentine Claudia Cardinale David Niven Elliott Gould Roger Moore Stefanie Powers Telly Savalas There are of course many other actors in this film, plus the obligatory extras without whom productions like this would not be possible. The film carries a PG rating, which was probably right for the sevebties, but of course times move on, and I tend to think there is nothing in this movie, that would concern a parent. Not a Jewel in my Eyes

Advantages: some funny moments, Danny DeVito
Disadvantages: Wooden acting at times, weak story, bad effects

The Jewel of the Nile is the follow on film from Romancing the Stone and it is set a few months after the first film. Jean Wilder is still a best selling novelist and is trying her hardest to finish her latest book but she is having trouble concentrating and she just wants to give up sailing with her lover Jack and move back to New York. Jack is just too happy sailing and living his dream to want to give it up. An opportunity comes for Jean when Spiros Focas, a ruthless dictator invites Lean to go to Egypt to write a book about him Jean accepts this offer as she does not know what a ruthless man he is.
