Advantages: Easy to erect, large, simple construction Disadvantages: Heavy to Carry
...(as a couple) have enjoyed 3 years main holidays for around £1500, including accommodation! How ace is that.
IN SUMMARY
If you are contemplating buying a tent, or don't really know what to do with yourself at holiday time I couldn't recommend this tent more. It is easy to put up and comes in a compact if ridiculously heavy bag which makes packing easy. It is big enough for a family to use or is luxurious for a couple. We always get comments about this tent from people and envious looks as we're cracking open a beer after about 45 minutes of tent erection, whereas other people are still arguing after an hour and a half. A fabulous tent which offers great value for money and will last a lifetime....

Advantages: Durable. Spacious. Easy to erect. Bright & airy. Disadvantages: None apart from being heavy (but it is a large tent!)
...holiday home - the Outwell Colorado 8 tent. (Don't confuse it with the Vango Colorado 8 which is a different tent)
STYLE
The Colorado is what is known as a tunneltent - because it is tunnel shaped. Tunneltents come in a variety of designs, usually with an entrance at one end, or on either side. Sometimes they even have all 3 options! The bedrooms are made up of an inner section with built in ground sheets and insect netting (a big plus point for me!) which hooks up to the outer section via a toggle system. Depending on the number of berths, the bedrooms are usually located at one, or both ends, with a large living area in the middle. The Colorado 8 (as it's name indicates) is an 8 berth tent. Family size tunneltents tend to have good headroom in the bedrooms and living area. Sun canopies can be bought as an additional extra. On all four...

Advantages: Logical to put up, spacious to be in Disadvantages: Bit big for the odd weekend!
...Let's set the scene... me and the missus like going away during the summer. Long weekends camping are a favourite especially with an over energetic little lad and a slightly tapped in the head greyhound... which is easier to control is the subjected of an ever ongoing debate!! However, the tents we'd had were not really big enough, especially when we got the dog as well. A little 3 man dome with tunnel and a 5 man dome were just too small.
And as for the thought of buying a caravan... let's just say Jeremy Clarkson is someone I agree with!!!
So, off to the local camping shop for a look round. Actually, we often found ourselves in there just to pass a bit of time. With a gardening centre in the same place, plus the obligatory coffee shop, it was a nice little diversion. But I digress...
They had a huge display of tents from most names...
