Advantages: Comfortable, plush ride, sensible gearing Disadvantages: Price, low spec group set
...Girlfriend was getting back ache after riding a small version of a male bike, so i bought her one for her birthday...no more back ache.
Specific for ladies in the way that,
1. Small brake leavers
2. Larger saddle
3. Shorter top tube
4. Softer suspension fork
Ther are probably loads more changes compared to the normal 4900, but these are the obvious ones. As a package though it works well, and is pretty comfortable to ride. Plush forks (low stiction), sensible gearing and a nice ladies saddle to protect the soft bits!
You pay a premium though for such attention to detail. Yes you pay the same as the male version, but you get downgraded gears, cassette, hubs and chainrings. Bit tight if you ask me, are the ladies being taken advantage of in the way that they might not know the difference between the Deore and LX range? NIce colours...

Advantages: Hardwearing jodphurs in a range of colours Disadvantages: none
...AND SIZES**
The jodhpurs come in Date, Moss and Nightshadow as well as Winter Rose.
Other sizes available are xs, s, m, l, xl which I would imagine equates to age 3-4 for the xs up to age 7-8 for the xl; based on the small we have which is age 4-5.
**WEBSITE**
www.joulesclothing.com

It's worth checking out if you are looking for outdoor clothing which is a bit different.
**VERDICT**
We bought the age 4-5 (a size small on the label) and since little lady is almost 5 and about average size, the sizing is very true to size.
The jodhpurs have been worn consistently every week for about 4 months and show no signs of wear; in fact...

Admittedly one was quite comical, he was passing a car and the little old lady didn't check her mirror when she swung her door open...
So this got me thinking, and seeing as my cycling is becomming more and more serious and have a lot of money invested in my bike I thought it time I invested some money in my head.
Giro are a very good, well known manufacturer of cycle helmets. Both for extreme off road stuff and simple leisure cycling. The company started in 1985 when a man named Jim Gentes created the first lightweight adult cycling helmet in his garage. Business boomed and soon he had to take over his next door neighbours garage too...
