What do blokes get for Christmas? Socks you say? Not like these they don't! For around £12.99 you can pick up a pair of these in your local Outdoors store like Blacks, though, just in case you missed out!

Im going to begin my review with a strange fact:-

"the average pair of feet has over 200,000 skin pores".

Which science boff discovered that! Thank god we don't have that many on our faces otherwise Oxy and Clearasil would be rolling in billions, especially the hard work your feet are put through!

Back to the product now though.
These socks can really make the hard work of a long days work feel a little less hard, using a very technical multi-fabric design, specially made to keep your feet drier and hence help prevent you from getting blisters. To quote Bridgedales explanation of there system,

"Bridgedale's MMS® technology helps to transport moisture away from the skin via transferring yarns, to an outer absorbent layer. The moisture is held in this layer allowing the feet to breath. Locking the moisture away from the skin enables feet to remain warm, dry, blister-free and comfortable."

Pretty good, ey? Ive worn these for a 2 day walk in the Lake District, and have not had one blister yet! A lot of you keen walkers will know that that is one thing that is difficult to not bring back with you after a couple of days away!
I own a pair of Goretex boots, and my socks seem to be able to work well between the systems, helping my feet to breathe which is a great advantage , helping me to walk those last few miles pain and sweat free!
Each ascent sock is made from 49% Coolmax®, 27% Merino wool, 23% Nylon and 1% Lycra.
The cool max to help the sock keep your feet dry and cool and the merino wool to help you be able to wear the socks for a little longer to help breathablitly and to keep the stench down to a minimum. These all helping this sock to be able to be used in 3-4 season conditions, so spring to autumn would be the ultimate time to be able to use all advantages of this sock.
Also, for comfort the sock has a slighty contoured arch, to help fit the foot more easily. Also, there is a double cuff to prevent the sock from falling down and a reinforced heel to help absorb most shocks from a days walking, not bad ey?

Overall, for a heavy duty sock, these are great and fot a couple of days walking, these socks will be fine for your feet, and will help allow you to walk a couple of extra miles. I paid around £6 for my socks after a buy 1 get one free offer so try and look at for them!

Interesting as your feet hurting is one of things that can ruin a day out. Good review

Good review, my housemate works on a little island in the bristol channel and I think these will be great for him. They'll also do nicely when we go off camping. Thanks for sharing. Donna x

Nice review on socks. I cycle and wearing the correct material and fibres is essential for a comfortable ride (or walk in your case)
