Advantages: The price! They are so cheap and you may be able to find discount vouchers online! Disadvantages: New balls are hard and could damage new bats.

The CA Attack Junior Ball is a basic, entry level junior cricket ball, available at just £2.99. It should be stressed that for this price, you are buying a cork and leather ball that is not designed to be used in high quality league matches.

Sometimes you can find junior balls retailing for around the £4 - £7 price mark, which can be costly if you need to keep 20-30 on hand at one time.
The CA Attack Junior Ball is a basic, entry level junior cricket ball, available at just £2.99. It should be stressed that for this price, you are buying a cork and leather ball that is not designed to be used in high quality league matches.
The ball itself has a heavily lacquered finish, which keeps the ball hard for longer.
We used the ball for 2 hour sessions over a 16 week period and warned junior players not to use new bats until the balls had softened a little. Nearly all the balls made it through to the end of the 16 week course, with only 1 or 2 being completely unusable at the end of this time.
The big advantages of the ball are obviously the value you get and the comparative durability when there is no point splashing out a load of cash for better quality balls for practise situations.
The downside is that when the balls are at their newest and hardest, I would advise against using them with brand new bats or bats that have barely been knocked in.
However, for the bargain prize, you'd be silly not to consider them. Just don't go scrimping and saving on actual match balls.

I'm basing this review of the CAAttack Cricket Balls on the junior (4.75oz) version.
CA Cricket is a Pakistan-based company, who export their product to the UK. They also manufacture a wide range of other cricketing equipment, from bats to bags, and seem to base their offerings firmly within the 'value' sector.
The CAAttackballs were my first experience of the brand, and, being a coach of Under 13 cricketers, I was looking for a number of inexpensive, hard wearing cricket balls good enough to last through 16 weeks of indoor net practise.
The price of the balls is incredibly cheap (£2.49 per ball from www.thesportshq.com, who seem to have a tie-up with CA, as they carrry the full range of their equipment) and my initial concern was in terms of what kind of quality you are getting for your cash. A typical equivalent junior ...
