I'm basing this review of the CA Attack Cricket Balls on the junior (4.75oz) version.
CA Cricket is a Pakistan-based company, who export their product to the UK. They also manufacture a wide range of other cricketing equipment, from bats to bags, and seem to base their offerings firmly within the 'value' sector.
The CA Attack balls were my first experience of the brand, and, being a coach of Under 13 cricketers, I was looking for a number of inexpensive, hard wearingcricket balls good enough to last through 16 weeks of indoor net practise.
The price of the balls is incredibly cheap (£2.49 per ball from www.thesportshq.com, who seem to have a tie-up with CA, as they carrry the full range of their equipment) and my initial concern was in terms of what kind of quality you are getting for your cash. A typical equivalent junior ball in shops retails at between £3.99 and £8.99.
FEATURES -The balls are hand-stitched (incredible for the price) -The balls are PVC centred -They are only available in red -Different logos on both sides of the seam (meaning youngsters can easily identify which side they are shining)
OPINION On delivery the balls arrived wrapped in paper, within a small plastic bag, then packed in boxes of 6.
My initial reaction was that the balls had quite a proud seam, encouraging movement in the air and off the ground. They also appeared to be quite well lacquered, which suggested that once this was knocked off (after a few sessions), the balls may become mis-shapen fairly quickly.
In fact, the balls are perfect for junior nets. At the price, they have lasted so far through 10 of our 16 week practise sessions and will go the distance. They offer enough encouragement for bowlers without moving too much which is a positive from a coaching point of view.
Considering you can buy 30 balls (including postage, which, on the site I mentioned earlier is only £3! You can even get i-points on your purchase if you collect in the scheme.) for under £100, these balls are a bargain and come recommended.
Beacuse of the highly lacquered exterior, I wouldn't recommend them for match or league play, but the CA Attack balls are perfect for young cricketers and clubs looking for a good value, long-lasting cricket ball.

Advantages: The price! They are so cheap and you may be able to find discount vouchers online! Disadvantages: New balls are hard and could damage new bats.
