The renault clio 1.2 5 door is my first car, for now over 4 years and I have loved every moment driving it. Renault Clio 1.2 Dynamique 5dr

Advantages: Looks, fuel economy, extras
Disadvantages: Power, sound proofing

As 'my' first car (im on my dads insurance) we set out looking for a small 1.2 car, having looked at a few other cars we found a second hand Renault Clio Dynamique 5dr in the corner of a forecourt for around £4000, with 21,000 miles on the clock. Having only driven it for 6 months i have yet to find any major problems with it, the brakes take a while to get used to as they are very sensitive however i have found them to be an advantage if you need them in a hurry... (i will add at this point that the ABS works well!!) The inside is very spacious, boasting hight adjustable sports seats, good for short journeys and long one's (3hours practising for a driving test and I had no complaints) as well as A/C some models do come with climate control. Corsa 1.2 SXi

Advantages: Simple
Disadvantages: Engine

The car we reviewed was a Vauxhall Corsa SXI Twinport with a 1.2 litre 16 valve engine. It was standard spec with alloy wheels fitted. Full specifications are available Here Driving experience Driving the Corsa can only be described in a single word: Easy. The clutch is light, there is no way to put the car into the wrong gear, and the power-assisted steering, unlike the engine, is powerful. The combination of all of this means that it is very simple to drive. The instrument panel is simple - Spartan, even - and there is very little to distract you from the reason why you are behind the wheel: driving the car. Performance out of the 1.2 litre Twinport was adequate - You will never be the first one away from stop-lights, and acceleration is not great at higher speeds, but it does offer enough power to take you where you need to go. ...
