Shaft)The perimeter weighting of the X-22 ironshas been maximized for a moment of inertia (MOI) thats 10 percent higher than their predecessors, meaning you get more forgiveness on off-center strikes. The tour-inspired head shape has a slightly thinner top line sole with a large sweet spot for improved aesthetics and forgiveness to boost your confidence. The ideal center of gravity position has been preserved, generating optimal ball-flight trajectories. Callaway has incorporated the Modified Tru-Bore design, dampening vibration for enhanced feel. VFT TechnologyVFT Technology maximizes ball speed and perimeter weighting for more distance forgiveness; S2H2 increases discretionary weight by removing it from the hosel repositioning it in the perimeter of the club head; 360-Degree Undercut Channel maximizes perimeter weighting by moving the CG lower farther back in the club head, enlarging the hitting area and stabilizing the club head for more forgiveness.Precision Notch WeightingPrecisely positions more weight to the perimeter of the iron to create a higher moment of inertia (MOI) for greater forgiveness stability while maintaining the center of gravity position that produces ideal trajectories and feel. Tour-Inspired Head ShapeOur engineers took elements designed for Tour players, like a thinner top line narrower sole, and incorporated them into highly forgiving irons with a higher MOI so they can be played by a wide range of golfers.Modified Tru-BoreAn advanced version of the original Tru-Bore design, the polycarbonate tip plug at the end of the shaft dampens vibration for enhanced feel performance.SpecificationsClubLoftLieBounceHandLen gthSwing Weight3 Iron2160.51.0RH / LH39D04 Iron24611.5RH / LH38.5D05 Iron2761.52.0RH / LH38D06 Iron30622.5RH / LH37.5D07 Iron3362.53.0RH / LH37D08 Iron37634.0RH / LH36.5D09 Iron41645.0RH / LH36D0PW45657.0RH / LH35.5D1AW516511.0RH 35.5D1SW566515.0RH / LH35.25D3LW606511.0RH 35D3Shaft PropertiesCallaway Golf Mens X-22 Graphite

Advantages: Very Very forgiving/ideal for an improving player Disadvantages: None to speak of,maybe the lack of a 3 iron
is plain to see and feel. The weight of the club is significantly different to my older spalding set.
Good bits
I like the idea of the 10 iron in place of the 3 and I now use it more than the wedge. Apart from the distance stuff i have massively improved around the green with a real feel through the club, granted the lessons are helping but I am convinced that the clubs are playing a big part. I would not hesitate to recommend these, very expensive new but at £180 second hand a real bargain. As a 'New' beginner I thought a decent set of clubs would'nt make much difference but I was way off the mark they have really helped. I reckon I'm looking at at least 6 to 7 shots off my round and the 90 mark is very close now for me. ...
Advantages: achieve good distances, more feel to your shots Disadvantages: expensive, not a huge difference to cheaper callaways
i recently upgraded my irons my VFTs to the fusions and i was impressed by the difference. I seem to be able to hit the ball further with my new irons and unlike my old irons there are no cavities in these clubs, which i think inproves the 'feel' of the shot and the distance. With this set i also got a gap, lob, sand and pitching wedge, all of which are useful for around the greens. However i feel as though the longer irons such as 3,4,5 show the biggest differences, when compared to other sets. They no longer feel like clubs, but are more like an extension of your arms and one has far more control over the club. However the clubs are rather expensive and i only acquired them because they were a gift. Otherwise i think i would not have purchased them as my improvement in golf is not worth nearly £1000 ...
Advantages: Good looking, nice feel to the swing, rugged construction Disadvantages: No more excuses! Expensive to buy when new
exactly where on the club face the ball makes contact mean that shots are, in theory, longer and straighter.
I think a very god golfer may notice more subtle differences, I can only say that my shots are a little longer and more controlled with most of the irons - though the pitching and sand wedges seem particularly good.
There are two downsides to these clubs;
1) When purchased new they seem relatively expensive - a price worth paying if you are a superb golfer perhaps, but for someone who simply dabbles then the money could be better spent elsewhere. However, I have noticed a number of sets of these clubs that are significantly cheaper when second hand - golf clubs are extremely volatile in this way, they seem to drift out of fashion very quickly.
2) I find that having these clubs removes an excuse for playing badly - while this ...
