Our waterbed, I mean airbed!
Advantages: Great price, repair kit provided, easy to inflate & deflate, lightweight. Disadvantages: Could not get it back in to the original box.
We recently went on a camping trip for three nights and were advised to get ourselves a blow up mattress so that we would be more comfortable and not have to sleep on the cold, hard, sometimes damp floor of a tent. We took up this advice and my Mum purchased this double airbed for my fiance, Tom, as one of his birthday presents. It cost £18.00 from sports-direct.com but is available elsewhere for a similar price. The airbed comes in a cardboard box ... ...polythene complete with a repair kit containing some fabric patches and a tube of glue in a pop-close bag. This is very handy and although we have not needed this yet (thankfully!) we have kept it sellotaped to the underneath of the airbed to avoid it getting lost. The bed is very easy to put up, simply attach an electric or battery operated pump and the airbed will be fully inflated in just a couple of minutes and ready for use. There is a double ...

Makes inflating & deflating your airbed a breeze!
Advantages: Very easy to use, inflates & deflates, great price, easy to store, lightweight. Disadvantages: A little noisy & greedy with batteries.
This campingaz quickpump airpump is to be used for inflating or deflating airbeds and as I went camping recently and didn't want to waste three hours trying to blow up my airbed this was really an essential item. It was purchased for around £8.00 from sports-direct.com (instore not online though) by my Mum's boyfriend and is also available online from Amazon.co.uk for £9.42 with free super saver delivery. This is a fantastic price for an item that ... ...in the coming months as we are intending on going camping a few times and I will be using the double airbed Tom received for his birthday for staying over at my Mums house a few nights a week. The pump comes in a box and requires 4 D sized batteries (brought 2 X 2 Kodak ones from Poundland for £1.00) and it will provide around 30 minutes of running time for each four batteries so while it's not very economical it does save a lot of time so it's worth ...

"Ready to Sleep, Ready for Bed!"
Advantages: Good value for money, durable, comfy and quick and easy to use. Disadvantages: Children may grow out of the High School Musical design element.
HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL SENIOR YEAR READY BED
COST - £29.99 from Argos. Just now their is an offer on argos.com and the readybed is reduced to £24.99. This is superb value for money as the pump is included and the bed is long lasting.
WHAT IS A READY BED? - A ready bed is a sleeping bag and inflatable matress in one. Some of them also come with a pump and a easy to carry storage bag, as this one does.
THE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL SENIOR YEAR READY BED ... ...with a pump and the High School Musical bedding sac.
There are a great set of instuctions included but I don't think most people would need to use them as there are fantastic diagrams and three simple steps on the back of the packaging. This was all I needed.
When you first use this bed you need to put the matress into the bedding sac. I found this quick and easy to do. In my opinion you only need to do this once as you can store, inflate and deflate ...

Comfortable, quick to inflate and doesn't leak.
Advantages: Each side inflates separately allowing for different weights and preventing sinking in middle. Disadvantages: None really
...are now on our second Coleman comfort bed as the first one sustained a puncture and we were too lazy to repair it! The best thing about this airbed is that you pump each side up individually. This prevents the 'sinking into the middle' effect that normally happens after a couple of days. It also means that you can inflate each side to your individual needs (softer on one side for example).
The last time we used our airbed, we needed to top it up ... ...it's quite difficult to get it back into it's little bag, and the little bag with our first Coleman split during the effort.
All in all if space is not an issue for you when camping, in my opinion you can't go too far wrong with this air bed. ...

Raised double Aerobed
Advantages: space saving; quick to put up Disadvantages: needed air top up every day; only lasted 3 days
The raised double Aerobed does everything the ads say, it is space saving, easy to put up and fairly easy to pack away again. The major draw back was that it only lasted 3 nights normal use before the one side seam split. Argos refunded me in full with no problem. My guests were forced to sleep on an old camping air bed we had and later said our £20 camping air bed was firmer and more comfortable for them than the Aerobed had been. Won't be buying ... ...say, it is space saving, easy to put up and fairly easy to pack away again. The major draw back was that it only lasted 3 nights normal use before the one side seam split.
