Advantages: Reliable, easy to use Disadvantages: Spinlock safety locks not very secure if not tightened properly
I purchased this about a year ago and was pretty impressed with it. With the set you get a 7kg barbell bar with 2 spinlock safety locks, 2 dumbell bars with 4 spinlock safety locks and plates that go up as: 4 x 5kg, 4 x 2.5kg, 4 x 1.25 and 4 x 0.5kg. The barbell and the dumbells have good grip sections on them however form blisters on your hands if used a lot, therefore I would suggest purchasing some good quality York weightlifting gloves to prevent this.
The spinlock safety locks are good if you tighten them really tight, however they easily gradually unspin if you do not tighten them enough. Also in my opinion the weight of the plates could be in higher weight value, like 4 x 7.5kg just so that people who like to add extra weight can do as it is difficult to get many more than 2 plates on each side especially on the dumbells.

I purchased this set of weights and bars a few months ago and have been very pleased with how they have been. I have used them for a variety of exercises, from bicep curls to bent over rows.They allow users to change the amount of weight on the bars easily, perfect for beginners who should make strength increases relatively fast - if that's what they train for. The weights will be useable for life for people who are just looking to be toned and to perform regular endurance exercises. However, for people planning on building large amounts of muscle or increasing strength, the weights will not last overly long. The user will need to purchase more weights for the bars to increase the stress and strain on the working muscles.

I started bodybuilding 3 years ago. I started at home using these exact weights.
They are great for everything you want to achieve when using them.
I use them for barbell curling, dumbell curling, dumbell pressing, dumbell flys, shouler press and squats. they can be used for many more things. I use these to work on my biceps, triceps, shoulders, pecks and legs. They are perfect for home use. They dont get in the way and are easy to store away in a cupboard or where i put them, under my bed.
Over the years i have managed to move up with the weights that i use as these weights are changable as to what ever suits your comfort.
These dumbells are a great addition for your home gym. Combine these with other equipment and your normal nutrition and you can achieve what your after.
