    Advantages Advantages Cool, protective, safe.

Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit expensve but worth it for the safety aspect.

Horse riding is considered a high risk sport so it would make sense to protect something as important as your head. Whatever the level of riding, accidents can always happen, nobody is immune. A hat is a really important piece of equipment, considered essential by most people, though some still have a blase attitude. Firstly, Why Wear a Hat? * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Most riders seem to wear hats, but there are those who don`t. Just as worrying are those who wear hats thinking that they are safe, but the hat is so old that it doesn`t offer enough protection. Horses are animals which ... more

Advantages Advantages Comfortable, Stylish, Good value, Well built and Well ventilated.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages NONE!!!!

A very comfortable and good value hat, which is incredibly well vented and offers wonderful protection to the rider, I would recommend this hat to everybody for its smart style, comfortable fit, and all round versatility. Despite having fallen off twice in this hat and having landed on my head on both occasions it is still in very good condition (although I would normally encourage replacing any hat after a fall this was not an option for me as a result of my limited finance.) and unlike most hats that leave your head feeling hot and sticky in the summer if worn for any substantial length of ... more

Earlier on today i borrowed my friends hat and it was the champion ventair riding hat. This hat meets the EN1384 and the PAS 015 standards so this means it is classed as safe and you could wear it at riding schools etc. For £80-100 i wasn't overly impressed as i didnt think it was anything too special and didnt differ from my hat thats 1/2 the price! My hat is a 6 3/4 and the one i borrowed was a 6 7/8 but it was very very tight so if your going to purchase without trying i wouldnt! TRY B4 U BUY :) although the hat looks very stylish apart from the champion it is nearly identical to my less ... more

Advantages Advantages Stylish and value for rmoney

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

Champion make a great velvet riding hat - not only it is stylish and comfortable it is great value for money. As with all hats Champion meet current safety standards and the hat is of good quality, extremely comfortable and stylish and comes in a small range of colours. They have an easy to clip clasp on the strap so no fiddling around trying to get the hat done up when wearing gloves etc. The hat looks very professional and so compliments any rider entering horse shows. If fact I think most of the really srious riders wear Champion hats, after all they have been around for some time and earnt ... more

5 Stars Quick review of Champion Hats by flint22 16/07/2008
Comforable and light weigh, looks good, felt different as i was use to an older type of hat but wouldn't go back to a conventional hat now. harness design stops hat from tipping back/forward.
