I highly recommend the Champion Tails stain remover. I would not be without it. If my horse was not grey then I would not be as worried, but I consider it essential for greys. The Champion Tails coat shine also has a place in my tack room. This is only because I have bought it and I hardly use it, so it is still there. I wouldn`t actually go out and buy it again.

Whilst on the subject of washing horses, stain remover is a useful thing to have in the tack room. The review is for stain remover and coat shine, both of which I have used though the former more than the latter. Having a grey, I would not be without stain remover.
Stain remover is something that you spray onto a stain on the horses coat, leave for a few minutes and then sponge off. When horses roll, they roll in the grass, even if it is not muddy and end up with green stains on them which are only visible when they are grey. These stains are not easy to remove, even when bathing them and using shampoo. The other type of stain that also shows up more on a grey are from droppings. For some reason, when they are in their stable, they chose to lie in their droppings even if they have loads of straw. Even when they have a rug on, they still manange to get covered. My light grey sometimes looks like a coloured horse, he appears light grey with dark patches. The dark patches are where he has been lying in his droppings. The stain remover even has coloured highlights. It is available in natural stain or silver stain at £5.95 for 175g.
Spray the stain remover on to the stain, go away, muck out, come back, sponge off with a damp sponge and the stain is gone, miraculous. it may sound simple, but try getting rid of these stains, especially grass stains, with ordinary shampoo, not easy. You can rub all you like and the stain doesn`t want to move, but the stain remover makes it easy, it does exactly as it says on the bottle.
Coat Shine. * * * * * * * * *
Not something I use often, though I do for shows, if i think about it. It is available in clear shine for £5.95 for 175g. You spray it all over the coat of the horse to create a natural shine. Lightly spray, do not use too much.
Disadvantages. * * * * * * * * * * * *
The stain remover has no disadvantages. The coat shine I feel is a bit pointless. As explained in my other review, dark horses seem to have a natural shine, mine certainly do. Grey horses tend not to shine as much. I don`t think you can create a shine on a horse that is not there, if you do it may not look natural. I have always believed that a horses shine comes from within, if they are happy and healthy, they will shine (as long as they are not grey). Yes, you can enhance a shine by grooming, but I don`t think you can make a horse shine when it wasn`t before, just by spraying it. My friend at the yard used this spray. She used loads of it and at the end, the horse looked a bit like a chip pan. It certainly wasn`t a good look. You also have to be careful where you spray it. If you spray it on the saddle patch, it can make the saddle slip.

Advantages: It works! Disadvantages: A bit expensive
...has approached I saw the Champion Tails Stain Remover and I thought i'd give it a try.
As soon as we had a dry warm day last week I couldnt wait to get it out and try it on both horses!!
It has an okay smell (which worried me because I thought the flies might be attracted even more!!) after really giving the tail a good scrub and then hosed it down the change of colour was instant!!
Champion Tails Concentrated Stain Remover is specially formulated ... ...mane and tail hair, white socks and stained body hair. The tails stain remover isnt badly priced as its a specialist product but there are some cheaper on the market which also give a good result.
You can get the stain remover in either natural or grey in 175g tubs.
I opted for the natural as I use can it on both horses.
The end result was a nice stain free soft and smooth tail with a noticeable difference in the colour. ...
