I love to go catfishing probably more than any other person that I know of.Some people don't like to catch catfish because it takes so long to catch them. But it's well worth it to me.The feel of pulling in a large catfish is very enjoyable and exciting. It always makes me want to go even more.

I usually go just before daylight or right before it gets dark in the evening.Sometimes I'll stay all night cat fishing.
Cat fishing is a very pleasurable experience as well as very relaxing. You can cat fish at just about any place of water. Some of the best places that I've found to catch cat fish are back waters or ponds or rivers. But try to find a place that may have trees or branches out in the water. The cat fish like to stay under shades of some sort.

I usually buy raw chicken livers.I take the chicken livers and mix some garlic in with them and let them soak in it for a couple of days. The louder the smell is the cat just love it.You may have already heard of doing this before, but find you some of panty hose. Take pieces of the chicken liver and place in little square pieces of panty hose.Take and roll or twist it up (however you can get the liver to stay in the panty hose). Then tie in a knot and cut the extra off, leaving a perfect small ball of chicken liver.

Take a cat fish hook and push it through the panty hose , so it will be a snug fit.Whether you fish on the bottom or top of the water, your bait will surely stay on for awhile. Now, cat's really love these livers with garlic but you may every now and then catch a turtle.Turtles for some reason seem to favor the flavor as well.

When cat fish bite they are very slow (kind of like a turtle bites). It may take hours for one to finally take the bait,Then again you may have one that will automatically take it.Some will jerk and some will just suck on it or try to run with it.It's absolutely wonderful when you do catch one after sitting there for awhile. It's well worth the wait.

When you catch one always be careful taking them off the hook. They can bite you or they're fins will cut you .There bite can hurt sometimes for they have little teeth with powerful jaws that will clamp down on you. They're fins are powerful to for they feel like a razor cutting you. They say they're fin have poison in them and that's why they hurt or sting so bad.

But if you like the glory of catching big fish then you need to try my recipe for chicken livers. There are other things that you can use to catch cat fish, anything from worms, minnows, cheese, hotdogs, gizzards, raw shrimp and many others. So have some fun and go out there and catch you a big cat.
