Cobra have forged a name for themselves in the driver and fairway woods market in recent times and are widely renowned as a great club for length and forgivness: the 440 SZ is no exception. Although it is not the most recent in the Cobra series having being overtaken by newer models such as the "Speed" drivers and the new LD models, the 440 SZ is still a fantastic club and well worth a look at a much lower price than the ... ...£100 and can be found for around £60/£70 on eBay having originally retailed at £249.
Without a doubt the most outstanding feature of this club is the extra accuracy that it gives players. Named the SZ due to its huge "Sweet Zone" the club is appropriately named as the margin for error on off-centre hits is exceptional and the length of drive is unaffected by this. A very forgiving club indeed.

I bought this club a couple of years ago, and have never looked back. I needed a decent driver to give me some assistance in playing to my handicap, as I just didn't have much time to practice, and this was perfect.
It took me a couple of hours on a driving range before I stopped scuffing it low and left, but it really wasn't long before it was consistently going 250 yards. And it doesn't half make a great noise when you catch it! Since then I've ... ...My 3 wood is never used off the tee, as I feel so much more confident with this.
I found it necessary to tee the ball up far higher than I used to, but it gives a great shape, and rarely strays more than 15 yards left or right.
The version I have has 9.5 degrees loft, and although I was concerned that would give my shots a low trajectory (as I tend to hit lower punched shots), but it's far from the case. The ball flies at a very satisfactory height.
