Advantages: small and therefore warm, light, easy to put ip Disadvantages: little headroom, not good in extreme cold
...A very good tent indeed. I have used this tent on many 2,3,4 and 5 day trips and it has prooved very good. It is easy to assemble with only 2 poles and can easily be done by one person in only 3-4 minutes. I have also put mine up in gale fore winds with driving rain at 2 in the morning on Dartmoor. It is also very spacious and when hiking it is perfect for 2 people and all their kit. I was also pleasantly surprised by the fact that the tent does not create much condensation, in fact very little and the numerous inside pockets and twin vestibule areas are very useful for essential kit and cookin, respectively. The tent is also very light at under 5lb it makes little impression on your pack. It also has another advantage of being used as a single sheet tent, prefect for on the beach or just as a sun shelter. One minor disadvantage...

Advantages: Logical to put up, spacious to be in Disadvantages: Bit big for the odd weekend!
...Let's set the scene... me and the missus like going away during the summer. Long weekends camping are a favourite especially with an over energetic little lad and a slightly tapped in the head greyhound... which is easier to control is the subjected of an ever ongoing debate!! However, the tents we'd had were not really big enough, especially when we got the dog as well. A little 3 man dome with tunnel and a 5 man dome were just too small.
And as for the thought of buying a caravan... let's just say Jeremy Clarkson is someone I agree with!!!
So, off to the local camping shop for a look round. Actually, we often found ourselves in there just to pass a bit of time. With a gardening centre in the same place, plus the obligatory coffee shop, it was a nice little diversion. But I digress...
They had a huge display of tents from most names...

Advantages: Lightweight, robust, colour coded poles, reflective guy ropes Disadvantages: It's not true 4-season, small cooking area, lack of headroom
...x colour coded poles and flysheet loops. Eg. Put the red pole in the sleeve and attach the red flysheet loops to it. Two people can put it up in no time at all, with a little practice, which is good when it's blowing a gale. You can put it up fly-sheet first, but I've found it just as quick to 'go for it' and put the inner up and then add the flysheet. It is useful, however, to put up just the flysheet if, like me, you want a bit of shade on a sunny day. The poles are made from 'Featherlight'(c) Aluminium and give a a high strength-to-weight ratio. They easily fit down the inside your rucksack once you have packed it. The pegs are so light, you almost want to stick them in the ground to stop them floating away! The whole tent, rolled up and compacted into it's compression sack (included) is small enough to stick to the outside...
