I bought the Dyson, as I wanted a vacuum cleaner, which was capable of coping with cat hair removal and also had a high filtration level for asthma sufferers. Each DC-14 is colour coded to the special facilities it offers. I have the steel gray and purple version, which has the Hepa filter, extra pet hair mini turbine head, adjustable brush for carpets and tiles plus the standard tools. The standard model is yellow and gray, and does not have the adjustable brush. It is suitable only for carpets, not for tiles. GOOD POINTS For standard use, it is very effective on carpets, and it is shocking at first on how much dirt has been picked up. It does perform much better than my old vacuum cleaner. Dyson DC14 a powerful sucker!

Advantages: Bagless, powerful, 5 year warranty, great suction.
Disadvantages: No cord auto cord rewind.

This vacuum cleaner is the latest addition to my home, after my Vax bagless finally gave up. The one I am reviewing is the DC14 for carpeted floors, though there are the DC14 animal and all floors versions. Dyson claim that it never loses suction, and I have to say (at present) is completely true. The Features: Root Cyclone Technology. This means that it maintains powerful constant suction, so that you get deep down clean. Telescope Reach Wand. This enables you to reach high places without having to assemble awkward parts.
