Disadvantages: Bit large for little old ladies, bit smelly when new

...did!! The argument went on a bit longer as me and my brother argued over who would have to share a bed with nan - he lost and I got to sleep with mum! The following day dad said his back and shoulders hurt him so bad that he was going to buy a camping mattress to sleep on as he couldn't stand another six nights of torture on the floor(he does exaggerate). That morning we all traipsed out in the car again for another hour, to find a camping shop. It wasn't very big and there wasn't great deal to choose from in the way of mattresses, but we found one we liked the look of, and the picture on the box made it look like it would be very comfortable once it was inflated. The particular one we bought was a Coleman raised quick bed large single mattress. It was reduced from £42.99 to £34.99 but dad needed to buy a pump to get it to inflate... Read review

Advantages: A reasonable sized tent for the average family

...I've had this tent for about 6 years now and it's accompanied us on many camping trips. The manufacturer states it's an 8 person tent. Personally, I think they're referring to Snow White and the Seven Dwarves here, because it's not THAT big! Myself, hubby, teenage son and 12 year old daughter fit it in quite nicely, but I wouldn't want to fit any more in after that! PROS: Nice and roomy for 4 people (wouldn't bother after that). It keeps you warm! No drafts get through and it has plenty of ventilation when it's hot. It's withstood high winds and downpours quite nicely without any problems. CONS: We find it quite big and bulky to transport with all our other camping equipment, but to be fair, I suppose that's the drawback of buying a large(ish) tent. Advantages: Easy to erect

...The Coleman Savannah is a 6 person frame tent. It has an iside height of200cm high which is ample height for the average family! The tent is a kind of octagonal shape with the bedroom area taking 1 half & living area the other. We found the tent very easy to erect with colour coded steel poles which feed through from the outside of the tent, then legs attatched to lift the flysheet & place the tent in positon ready to be pegged down. There is then a groundsheet for the living area. The inner bedroom tents have an integral groundsheet & the whole thing is hung inside with colour coded hooks. What we particularly like as well is that there is a separate 'storage' area like a zipped up compartment where the cool box & bags ect can be stored.
