Flexi Dexi!

Advantages: Control yet freedom for dogs, different lengths/strengths available
Disadvantages: Broke!

I've had my beloved Dexi 10 days now & he loves his walkies. Dexi is a Jack Russell terrier, he's one and he's full of the joys of spring at the moment. We like our walks but I'm not 100% confident to let him off the lead at present as he has selective hearing, he'll do whatever you want him to, as long as there are no distractions!. My husband and I decided to buy a static lead for him and whilst we were looking around the pet superstore, we came across a stand dedicated to the Flexi lead. The Flexi lead is a 5 or 8 metre coiled lead, encased in a sturdy plastic handle. Whether you choose the 5 or 8 metre cord length, they both come in 3 sizes: 8 metre: Size 1 for Dogs up to 12kg/26Ib Size 2 for Dogs up to 20kg/44Ib Size 3 for dogs up to 50kg/110Ib 5 metre: Size 1.5 for Dogs up 12kg/26Ib ...

Review of Flexi Classic Lead

the flexi lead for dogs

Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -

My friend’s dad has got a couple of dogs and a few weeks ago he decided to get them some new collars…….simple enough you would think. But, the choice is quite difficult as there are quite a few on the market. The flexi lead is great for bigger and stronger dogs as my friend’s dad’s are. It gives the handler much more control over the dog via the lead. The handler can use the lead to keep the dog as far or as near as he/she wants. You use your thumb to stop the lead from expanding. It’s great for when your in a busy area and therefore need more control over the dog and if you want to bring the dog back to you can do quite effortlessly. You are given a lot of control. So, when I took the dog out for a walk it was good for both me and the dog The dog has much more distance he could go ...

Review of Flexi Classic Lead

Flexi Leads: A Training Aid - not a substitute

Advantages: Allows gradual, controlled socialisation
Disadvantages: can cause injury if not used correctly

I have read the reviews on dooyoo regarding these and agree whole-heartedly with what they say. So why am I doing a review of my own? - to give another perspective. The flexi lead is not a long term solution to an aggressive dog or one that will not come back when recalled. It is however proving to be an invaluable training aid. We adopted a dog from a rescue kennels in March. A collie/german shepherd cross, Rebel was seven months old. Born in the kennels he was briefly homed at 10 weeks but returned to the kennels at three months old. When we adopted him, he was totally untrained, had very little experience of the world, and had not been socialised with other dogs at all. At the kennels the dogs were kept in a kennel on their own, his only experience of other dogs were his neighbours throwing themselves at the door of their ...
