I've had this tent for about 6 years now and it's accompanied us on many camping trips. The manufacturer states it's an 8 person tent. Personally, I think they're referring to Snow White and the Seven Dwarves here, because it's not THAT big! Myself, hubby, teenage son and 12 year old daughter fit it in quite nicely, but I wouldn't want to fit any more in after that!
PROS: Nice and roomy for 4 people (wouldn't bother after that). It keeps you warm! No drafts get through and it has plenty of ventilation when it's hot. It's withstood high winds and downpours quite nicely without any problems.
CONS: We find it quite big and bulky to transport with all our other camping equipment, but to be fair, I suppose that's the drawback of buying a large(ish) tent. It has an annoying habit of not sitting quite flush to the ground in one corner. We thought it was our tent erecting skills that were at fault here, but it still does it when we've had other people help. Even though it is double skinned, it suffers very badly with condensation, and I mean badly on some occasions!! So much so, that we thought it had rained over night and leaked. Many a time we've had to lift all the airbeds and dry the ground sheet with towels! It's not as big as the manufacturers would claim. To me, fitting 8 people in this would be a squash, unless they were the Borrowers!!!! I've heard many people say that this tent is quick to put up but we didn't find it could be done in minutes..........unless you mean about 40 minutes! It took 4 of us that long from scratch, but I reckon that is about average and most people we see at campsites take about this long to do a full and proper job.
This has been our first and only tent so I've nothing to compare it with, but I'd recommend it all the same. We paid £300 for it as it was a relatively new design at the time, I'm sure it would be much cheaper now!
Advantages: plenty of headroom Disadvantages: plastic stakes
...at just how roomy the coleman weather master is. So roomy in fact I invited two friends the next time, I still found that even with four adults and four children it didnt feel cramped at all. The brilliant design of the tent means that it is very quick and simple to put up, it takes two people just a few minutes to erect. Although I did find it a bit tricky to erect on my own. So I would definetly reccomend that two people are best for erecting the ...
