Advantages: Challenging but accessible course for mid handicappers Disadvantages: Not hard enough for better players and not the best course in the area
.... A well hit mid to long iron is required but there is plenty of short rough around the green so that wayward shots aren't penalised. A tough hole to par but you shouldn't come a cropper. My score: 4; never threatened par with a five iron 20 yards to the right of the green.
Hole 3 - 338 Yds Par 4
The second of the member's holes this features a sharp dog leg right that makes the tee shot a tricky decision. Hit a straight drive too far and you could run off down a treacherous bank on the outside of the dog leg, lay up and you have a lengthy approach to a well protected green. In the past the inside of the dog leg was protected by very thick gorse that made attacking it a brave choice but now the rough has been cut back to a playable length the attacking drive is very much an option and one most regulars would attempt. The only danger...

Advantages: Spacious, good looking, durable, easy to handle. Well priced. Disadvantages: Not a lot!
.... A couple of dozen assorted golf balls, packets of tees, waterproof trousers and jacket, golf gloves, windcheater pullover, large sports umbrella, pens, markers, spare soft spikes, spike tightening tool, course planners, a rule book, and a pitch-mark repairer are currently residing in my golf bag. Add to this the fact that I also take out onto the course my valuables such as my wallet and credit cards, cheque book, my mobile phone, (turned off, naturally) my watch, car and house keys, at least two large bottles of Lucozade Sport, glucose sweets, and an assortment of chocolate bars and fresh fruit.
To be honest I don’t envy the professionals’ caddies, who have to hump around this lot on their backs each and every week in order to earn a crust. (Although having said that the “crust” they earn can be *VERY* substantial, especially...

Advantages: great feel and distance Disadvantages: cost
...I have been playing golf for 15 years and always play with a Titleist ball. It's something of a habit, but the ball suits my game. In cold wet conditions I'll play with the pts wound ball, and in dry summer conditions the professional balata. That was until I tried the newest product from Titleist, the pro V1.
It is the tour professionals choice of ball combining both distance and feel.It is longer off the tee than the balata ball but gets enormous spin around the green.
I'm not sure how Titleist have done it, but I was amazed at the extra length I got off the tee and the control and spin I got around the green. Putting with it is a dream, the ball doesn't fly off the putter like the wound ball.
At the moment the cost of the ball will put off all but the most accomplished golfer, at £35 a dozen you don't really want to 'lose' a ball...

I decided to by an epilater after a recommendation from a friend. i was told that epilation was alot better for your skin than shaving, that it was a quick process and would make the hair take longer to grow back.
I admit i chose this particually... more
