Advantages: Warm, waterproof, easy to use. Disadvantages: None to me.
that do wreck their rugs will often do better in a more expensive one. The Weatherbeeta Arion has a tough outer and is designed to last. Howvever, SOME horses wreck even expensive rugs. If you have one of these, it is probably best that you buy cheaper rugs and change them each year.
I usually spend around the £100 mark for a good outdoor rug. Rugs around this price usually last me a few years. I have only has this for one winter, so I cannot vouch for the lastability. It does appear strong and robust though and I am confident that it will last me years.
Do I recommend?

I highly recommend this rug for people with horses who are clipped during winter. My youngster who isn`t clipped has a thinner rug without a neck cover. It is excellent for the price, I don`t really see the point in paying ...
Advantages: good fit; warm Disadvantages: my rug was faulty; poor customer service.
Unfortunately, on the Rambo Supreme I bought there was a fault in the manufacture of it and the neck cover kept detaching and falling off. I contacted Horseware several times, but they didn't respond at all. I eventually had to go to the Irish version of Trading Standards and suggest legal action before I got a response. Horseware then declined to replace the faulty rug and eventually 'repaired' the original one that had never been right from the start, which wasn't what I wanted. The whole thing took almost a year to resolve, and I had to buy another rug/neck cover for my pony in the meantime. Horseware didn't appear to me to be apologetic or concerned about the inconvenience or expense I'd been caused. I was very disappointed that such an expensive rug had been faulty when I bought it,, and even more disappointed that the level ...

Advantages: snug horse, less worry, more time - hurrah! Disadvantages: None
Horseware Rambo supreme heavyweight turnoutrug
My horse is a sensitive soul, needing to be wrapped up warm in the winter
and shielded from the flies in the summer. So he is rugged up for 90% of
the time!
For all you non-horsy types a rug is a coat that covers the horse's body

chest. Some horses particularly the finer types racehorses for example have
been bred over the years to have finer coats that no longer give them
enough protection against the British weather. So both in the stable and
out in the field they need to wear rugs to protect them.
Sadly I am not fortunate enough to be able to check on my horse throughout
the day so when thinking about getting him a new cosy winterrug I needed
to be sure that it would be safe for him to wear all ...
