Advantages: Hard wearing, gatorskin versions are almost puncture proof! Disadvantages: Not a lot!
...of the tubes, helps keep the tyres feeling quick, but more importantly the time spent riding rather than stood by the side of the road fixing punctures is quite frankly worth its price. In the wind and rain of British weather this is VERY important!
They are quite pricey (RRP is £27.99 - from mail-order specialists Wiggle, though Ribble Cycles do them for £20.95 at the moment - Google both names and they will come up straight away), but the fact they last so long, plus their "puncture-proof-ness" and grip, mean they are worth the money at £27 - and a bargin at £20!!
If you are reading this for commuting purposes and like the gatorskin idea, but not the price of racing tyres, then Conti also do a cheaper tyre, called Ultra, which I would recommend to you - I have a pair on my commuting bike!...

...I am not to sure if the folding bike here, as there is no picture, is the same ones which I used in London, but they folded, and were so cool.
I have been a bike fanatic for a couple of years, having just purchased a OCR touring/road/mountain highbrid superextraordinary bike through E-bay, and had it shipped from America; so, as I had no plans to buy a new bike, this was an unexpected oppertunity. I was spending a few days in London with a very georgeous girl, who also loves to cycle, and my grandfather had just purchased these fold up bikes. They were for his boat so that he would save his 82 year old legs taking the long walks from where the boat is moored, to a quaint little canal-side restaurant.
