Cotton Traders - A Good Source for Wardrobe Staples

Advantages: Easy to use. Good quality merchandise. Good service.
Disadvantages: Inconsistent fit. Clothing is functional and unexciting.

INTRODUCTION Cotton Traders (CT) has become a staple source of clothes for me. In my darkest days, pushing almost 25 stone, it was my only reasonably priced, mainstream source of outsized clothes that did not carry the psychological baggage inherent in ?Big & Tall? and ?High & Mighty? type shops. With sizes up to 4XL for T-shirts and polo shirts, and waist sizes up to 52 inches, it was a godsend. The only downside was that ordering from them helped perpetuate the illusion that my size was OK. In fact, it was when I started struggling to get into CT?s biggest clothes that the penny finally dropped and I took decisive action to manage my health. Cotton on to this

Advantages: User friendly brochures, quality leisurewear
Disadvantages: None so far

The company concentrates on leisurewear although they have now branched out into household as well. Two former England Rugby Captains Fran Cotton and Steve Smith founded the company. In 1987 they started a business next to Altrincham (near Manchester) Railway Station supplying quality rugby shirts. Their company now has an enormous £30m turnover a year. They have twenty-five shops of which the newest ...

not just rugby shirts

Advantages: quality hardwearing products,reasonable prices
Disadvantages: none i have found

First a little bit of history about the company it was set up back in 1987 by ex england rugby players fran cotton and steve smith and some of their first lines were rugby shirts renowned for their long lasting wear abilities and quality. The company is based in altrincham in cheshire. From this small beginning they have branched out into many other clothing and footwear items renowned for the quality of their products ok so they are never going to be as cheap as matalan or pound stretcher but the clothes and footwear you buy from them last for ever .I purchased a rugby shirt and some 5 years later its still as good as new and the hiking trainers purchased 2 years ago are now only just showing wear marks on the soles despite being worn nearly every day. The latest spring catalogue which has just been released covers some 60 pages ...
