Advantages: glorious bat in the hands with a great middle Disadvantages: quite a heavy bat requires good strength and speed
...has been a mixed bag, Gray Nicholls rate all their bats with stars and the rating is from one to 5 (5 being the best) now I have used a 3 star bat right up to the 5 star ones and i'll tell you now that if you want to be the batsman of the season and hit 100's of runs then the bat to get is a Gray-Nicholls with a 5 star rating. Many top international and county players use them and they perform time and time again. Most of their bats are made in England ... ...cut above the rest. The bat is the trademark bat of Michael Atherton remade and is perfect for guiding the ball around the ground for 4's and can also be used by the more attacking batsman to hit that ball for six. The bat is on the heavier end of the scale although it feels reassuring in your hands. It is also a great looking bat that demands respect when you walk onto the field. It is very durable and will last many seasons with an attractive price ...
Advantages: enourmous sweet spot, for all round stroke play, brilliant bat, ligth pick up. Disadvantages: vibrations up and down the handle.
when i went into the local sport shop and picked up this bat I just felt a tingling sensation in my fingers. At first I thought that it was so lite that it wasn't there it was a fantastic pick up, when I went home and knocked the bat in is was very well sprung with a massive sweet spot. First playing with it was great it was so powerfull and valual for money. I managed to hit my first six. The downside is that occasionly when you get a edge it causes ... ...a very good bat. I think this is a bat for all round stroke play from the big hitters to the quick singles player. it is not too heavy and it is for the weaker layers but also can be used by a power house. as you can see I gave it a good rating so if you need a new bat then bye it!!!!!! ...
...not a fan whatsoever of gray nicolls bats. I believe they are very average and are made to look so good because matt hayden and andy symonds use these bats, hence the publicity, as these two players are some of the worlds greatest! However, I heard that the bat had a good middle, so I purchased one at a reduced cost and starting using the bat for a few nets!
**Preparation**
I prepared the bat very well, knocking in throughly and oiling well. This ... ...be honest. From thinking that Gray Nicolls was my least favourite make, it quickly became my favourite - I was thrilled with the rewards that I was reaping. The bat was well balanced, and despite the fact that it weighed 2'7", the bat picked up somewhere near 2'5". I was delighted. I could tell that after the disappointment of my Newbury, this was going to be a great piece of willow and was going to get me a lot of runs!
**Disaster**
I was having ...
...first bats produced by the gray nicholls company, who incidentally also specialise in the production of hockey sticks. The scoop was one of the first bats that I used in my early days as a cricketer and I was taken aback by its easy pickup and weight distribution. The bat is ideal for youngsters about to embark on the game, and providing the weight of the bat is not too heavy, will act to aid their pick up and allow them to play straight, something ...
Advantages: Good bat Disadvantages: Durability (lack of)
I bought this product because of a combination of factors. The willow looked good, the pick up was nice, the weight was right and the price was competitive. The fact that the bat was endorsed by the likes of Michael Atherton could only increase its attractiveness.
The bat played very well. It immediately lived upto its name of power spot and soon as I started playing straight drives in the nets. The bat served me very well for a couple of seasons. ...
