Modulate The Modulus
Review of County Modulus Pads by beevorm

Advantages: Lightweight, Decent Protection
Disadvantages: Easy To Be Given Out

...you miss it. The county modulus pads retail at about £60, which is slightly above average for a batting pad. Believe it or not, you actually have buy pads depending on whether you are right or left handed. The amount of pretection on each pad varies, so your front leg (The right one in my case as I am a left handed bat) has greater protection that the back leg (Left leg in my case). On the modulus, this takes the form of an additional strip of padding ...
...knee roll system on the county modulus, with a triple rolled section of the pad, with a specially installed strip sitting on the inside of the pad. One very slight problem with all pads that I have encountered is that the cotton based pads on the inside of the pad are cotton fibre and have a serious tendency to absorb sweat and be sopping wet at the end of a hot afternoon in June. The smell by the end of the season is not a pleasant thing. Thank ... Read review

...and i'm now not only bowling well but i'm actually being noticed as a batsman, and isn't that what everyone desires. With these amasing pads theres no need to worry if there's a fast bowler steaming in at the other end and your getting ready, hoping for the ball not to hit you on the pads because of the pain it will cause.............. then stop and all of the worries will be over as i can assure you that when the bowler hits you on the pad with ... Ideal for the average club cricketer
Review of Slazenger Select Test Pads by Morgenhund

Advantages: Two double width straps
Disadvantages: No instep protection

The Slazenger Select Test pads are a good alternative for anybody looking for a fairly inexpensive pair of batting pads with the general comfort of a quality pair of batting pads but without the price tag. These pads usually retail around the £39.99 mark, but many wholesalers such as Morrant, Romida or Bourne are likely to have them for closer to £30. I used a set of these, which I had borrowed off a friend, for the indoor season (I play a lot of ...
...Pads have improved immeasurably, in the 15 years that I have been playing cricket, with buckles being replaced by Velcro fastenings, which can allow you to get the tightness of the pads more accurately. As regards the straps of these pads, they were great, with the bottom (ankle) and the middle (shin) straps being both 2 inches wide (on pads of this price range, the norm is still to have a narrow ankle strap), although the kneestrap is only one inches ...
