For me Crocs are one of the best purchases I have ever made. Maybe even THE best. I urge you to read my review, as I hope it might make some of you, who are very disparaging about Crocs, think again. Some people have very little choice in their footwear.

I have a neuropathy condition, which I don't usually advertise. This condition began to affect my feet at a very young age and has progressed. For at least the last fifteen years I have been unable to wear any shop bought shoes other than trainers.

I could go into every shoe shop along Oxford street and would not find a pair of shoes to fit. Even with trainers and slippers I have a big problem and, whatever goes on my feet, I am never comfortable. When outside, I am forced to walk around in trainers. Training shoes are, for me, invaluable but, when the hot weather comes, along I feel really miserable. Imagine how you would feel when you can only wear training shoes however hot the weather. This leads to other problems such as swollen ankles, to name just one.

I cannot walk on hard surfaces if barefooted. I have never been able to wear Flip-Flops and feel quite jealous of those who can simply slip into these.

I do have shoes especially made for me but never with great success, owing to the complex difficulties that I have with footwear.

I was also put off going abroad to hot climates because of the problem I have with shoes. Not only does it mean hot feet but also, what other clothes can you dress in, other than jeans, if you can only wear trainers?

When, a few years ago, I saw these strange looking shoes for sale, I was immediately interested. I never thought they were ugly, as I quite like chunky shoes, but I can easily understand that they wouldn't be too every ones' taste. They were expensive, but my husband urged me to try them, on the off chance. Well, my feet did fit into them and they just about covered my feet up, which is a must with me. I cannot remember how much these cost as it was a long time ago but the cost was considerable (for a pair of plastic shoes!) as they were a new thing to the market.

Now they aren't miraculous as I can still only wear them for a short space of time BUT I now have an alternative to trainers. By having Crocs I can get out of my trainers on a hot day. I have to be careful not to trip in these owing to my particular problems. However, when holidaying, I can actually wear these around the swimming pool. I can slip them off at the swimming pool steps and after a dip can put them back on easily.
Also, I can wear these on the beach and even walk right into the sea and they still stay on.

It is a shame that so many reviewers find these ugly, even laughable. Even with that being the case, I will continue to wear mine, but then I don't have many other options, do I? I will wear my pink Crocs with pride around the pool, when on holiday. I will still wear my brown Crocs at the family barbeque this summer. I will even wear my black Crocs of an evening whilst on holiday, when my feet groan at having to fit into my specially made sandals.

So, I don't want sympathy. I can feel sorry enough for myself at times, without any help. There are people with far, far worse physical problems than I have...BUT if you see me on my holiday walking around in my Crocs, please try not to stare at this woman who appears to be obsessed with this type of footwear and is NEVER without a pair of Crocs- blue, pink, brown, black or white, I have them all! And It isn't just me...they are worn by many who have foot problems, those recovering from foot surgery or those who value comfort over vanity.

Crocs come in different styles and in a wide choice of colour. They can be worn by males, females and children. They are ideal to pack for a holiday and can be worn as beach and pool shoes. Crocs help to keep your feet cool and are very easy to clean. The fitting is wide and so they are good for those with foot conditions. Another plus is that these shoes last a long time. They are available in many shoe shops, especially during the summer season, and on internet sites, such as Amazon.
Summary: Makes my time in the sun much more fun!
