Concept II Rower. Model E. PM4
Advantages: Ease of use and worlds best Disadvantages: Huge! Very costly.
...pieces of gym equipment. The Concept 2 Rower is bar far the most superior rower I have used. I use the Model E which is a newer version of the rower and immediately recongised by the frame being higher off the ground allowing a raised seating position which in my opinion is a far more natural and comfortable position. This rower is fitted with a performance Monitor known as PM4, simply the key pad you enter the distance/time and so forth. Being wireless ... ...concept 2, as well as wireless heart rate monitoring.
The rower even has a game function which allows you to actually add some enjoyment into your workout, it consists of a simple fish game where you must avoid the larger fish and eat the smaller ones with movement up and down the screen enabled by rowing harder or slowing down.
Prices do vary and unfortunately it is not uncommon to find them new available for over £1000 however there are many ...

Endorsed by Steve redgrave, but not me!!!!!!!!!!!!
Advantages: A perfect rowing machine Disadvantages: Expensive
...comes to rowing machines, the concept 2 rower has been a mainstay in gyms over the last 10 to 15 years. However does that make a good piece of home gym equipment? In my opinion no, the machine is way too expensive for the home gym market, and despite is definite perfection as a rowing machine, the buyer with a smaller budget will be ostracized to purchase an inferior but cheaper machine. Logan investigates.
PHYSIOLOGY
Perhaps the biggest misconception ... ...train we always take a Concept 2; it's brilliant. It registers your power output, monitors the distance rowed, all the stuff you need to know really. It's probably about 80-90 per cent similar to rowing a boat on the river."
Now as a review my job is to critially review how well the makers claims stand up to critisism. Does it do what they are telling us it will? The problem here is I cannot critisize the concept 2 at all. The machine is sturdy, ...

Fluid Rower has really developed my muscle and fitness
Advantages: cheaper than a concept 2, can be stood on its end to save space. Disadvantages: you need to fill with water !!!!
I have been looking at getting fir after suffering with a bad back. Wanted something that I could use to exercise my whole body. I dont really care for swiming so looked at various fitness and gym equipment and settled for a indoor rowing machine. I like the fluid rower as it made a really nice swishing sound as you row as the resistance is water based. As you row you getting the sound of water almost as if you were at sea. The build quality is very ... ...together, before I had made my purchase I had watched several vieos on utube and also did a lot of research. For detaild information check out fluid-rower.com where you can download all the instruction manuals all full specs. I like the electronic readout and you get set distance stroke per minute, 500m time and also calories burnt etc. The seat is very good and doesnt hurt your bottom at all, I have size 11 feet and the foot plates you rest your ...

Goes Rusty
Advantages: Quiet, good basic range of training sessions Disadvantages: Goes rusty
...after buying and having the Life fitness people install the equipment, some of the external screws went rusty. The Life fitness repair person said oh yes you need to lacker these as sweat is quite corrosive to the metal. Unfortunately I was not told this when it was installed, they are not done automatically by the manufacturer. He was instructed by his supervisor that he was not to replace them. There get out - apparently a dehumidified out-house ... ...the screws that went were right in line for this. Other equipment from other manufacturers has not suffered in the same way. Given the Life fitness attitude, if you can avoid them do - I bought about 5000 pounds of equipment from them and this is how I was treated. ...

A decent in-front-of-the-telly magnetic exercise bike
Advantages: Low cost magnetic resistance bike, pretty sturdy for the price Disadvantages: Seating position not necessarily the most comfortably, not great for shorter people!
My previous exercise bike of many years (mostly used as a clothes horse, but more recently brought into service in a determined attempt to get fitter and thinner) recently broke. Specifically, its resistance strap wore through and the ride became more like freewheeling down a hill than anything more energetic. With this in mind I decided to go for a bike with magnetic resistance. I settled on this one as, not only did it fulfil my criteria of a magnetic ... ...was also foldable, and storage space is an issue in my house. As is usual in my reviews, I'll discuss my reasons for my ratings in the 'Specific Criteria,' and include and extra section of general comments. Durability At £79.99 (when I bought it) this was the cheapest magnetic resistance bike I could find, which didn't fill me with high expectations about the quality of the product. I'm pleased to say that I have been pleasantly surprised- ...
