Review of Delta Freeway II Exercise Cycle by greatmum1

Advantages: Gives choice of total/upper/lower body exercise
Disadvantages: not suitable for a tall person

...for over an year now. Delta Freeway cycle is recommended by manufacturer for users under 120 kg body weight. I did not find any specification for height. We found that when the seat is adjusted to the highest position stability of cycle is reduced. Good for height range 5'3" to 5'11". Was not suitable for our guest who was 6'1". Seat adjustment to suit different height is difficult but not too bad. Sometimes very hard to fit the screw in the right ...
...use it for longer periods, you might end up with a sore bottom, ok for short use. Resistance adjustment is erratic, there are no position markings and if often not proportional to turning of screw. Like half turn can make it quite strong resistance at times and sometimes its not quite so!! Good points: Good manual on exercise information. Though we have to be careful in accepting all of it, better to take advice from a prefessional. The bike is ... Read review

Cycle from Hell
Review of Delta Magnetic Cycle by billi65

Advantages: None at all
Disadvantages: too difficult even on the lowest setting

I had one of these excercise bikes, used it once and gave it to a friend. I bought it from Index or Argos, cant remeber which for £100. It was a self assembly job which was not too difficult but on using the cycle it was a nightmare. Because it use magnets instead of a friction belt you had to constantly strain to keep the wheel going unlike a conventional cycle which sort of free wheels a bit. I used this excercise bike for less then 5 minutes and ... Read review

Review of V-Fit AR1 Artemis II Air Rowing Machine by Trent1717

Advantages: Affordable, Realistic action, Sturdy, Comfortable
Disadvantages: Bulky, Noisy

...an affordable price range. The V-Fit is a sturdy rowing machine equal to many higher priced machines. The resistance is by air which provides a realistic rowing action. The seat is fairly comfortable and the foot pedals are large enough to accommodate the bigger sized shoe with Velcro straps to hold feet securely. The overall action is smooth and the pulley system has a chain rather than a belt (which can become frayed as the one on my old hydraulic ...
...manually changed but increases as your speed increases (which increases the machines noise), there is also the problem of keeping the machine in the one place as the harder you row the more it moves due to the wheels at the front. The machine is fairly large more so than most other home machine rowers, but can easily folded in half. It also has the basic display functions you would expect to find like speed time distance calorie count, strokes per ... Read review

Proteus PAR-5500 Programmable Air/Magnetic Rower
Review of Proteus PAR-5500 Programmable Air/Magnetic Rower by ddtowe

Advantages: Durable, versatile, heavyweight, fully programmable
Disadvantages: Very heavy, need to be plugged in for computer to work.

I have found this to be an excellent rowing machine, especially after using the concept rowers at gyms. It compares very well against them. The computer gives you the ability to really up the tension as you progress. It also offers you bespoke programmes similar to that in treadmills and cycling machines for overall cariovascular workouts. You can even direct the air back on you to provide some much needed air whilst you are woking out. It needs ... Read review
